Well, nobody answered, so maybe I'm the first to run across this, with the kbox (subox) mini -- and yes the "poppping up" does work -- it's recognizing the coil this morning. But it may need to be more gently done than with the vv3's.

Andria

Andria, I didn't get a chance to reply about this last night. But I have the same problem with both of my kbox minis I just received. I solved my problem by using smok afc's on both of them. I always use those on my mods anyway, so no big deal. I've found them very handy now that I'm using rebuildables, since a lot of those have shorter center pins. That saves me the problem of having to adjust them differently for each of my mods. I think one of Mad Vapes circuit board spacers would also work well.

I'm really not liking these as well as my istick 30W. There are several other issues that annoy me. The screen is really dim compared to other mods, and since it is so tiny, it's really hard to read. And then they decided to put the volts at the top rather than the resistance, which is different from every other mod I have, so that took some getting used to.

Another issue is the fact that the positive pole of the battery goes to the bottom instead of the top, as with most other mods. I just know that one day I won't be paying attention and will put a battery in backwards. Hopefully the board has protection from that and I don't fry the board. Then there's that awful tiny little fire button. It's not very comfortable to me and is not nice and clicky like I'm used to. So I get a lot of phantom fires when I use this. And I don't know if it's because I'm not getting the fire button pushed right, or if there is an issue with the board.

And last but not least, turning it off or on requires 3 or 4 times of clicking the fire button 5 times before it finally does what I want. To say the least, I'm pretty disappointed in this mod. I'm glad it was cheap. Everyone complains about the iSticks being cheap, but at least they're a comfortable mod and do what I expect them to do.

Haha I do believe I've started an interesting discussion.:D
I do realize how it could be hard to change after all these years of tube mods. But really after searching for that button with my thumb on ego batteries it's nice to wrap my hand around my Istick and that button is right there, under my index finger. Just press and fire away! Come on old dogs these are new tricks! Easier! Try it for a day! Lol
:pop:

I'm with you, David. Once I started finger firing my mods, I liked it so much better. The mods just fit so much better in your hands because you can cradle them in that area between your thumb and index fingers.

The simple wooden ones? Provided they are the same on every continent. Teeth are :D
Not tooth picks the metal ones that dentists use.

True all dat. It's quite small in my hand, as much so as the iStick30, and since getting used to my CF4s, I find that not quite as "ergonomic"... but I do have rather large hands for a female. It's heavier than the iSticks that's for sure, even heavier than the CF4s. I actually like the magnetic battery cover, nifty idea, and the magnetism seems quite strong -- I just had to remove a bluedriver that was stuck to the outside of it! -- but I agree, it's weird having the positive pole at the bottom -- but it says that it does have reversed-battery protection. I agree, it's weird having the ohms and voltage in reversed positions; took me a minute last night to figure out WHAT was going on, when it wasn't recognizing the atty, but I recalled it was a fixed battery post, and lord knows THAT's familiar ground, with the vv3s.

But I can't say that any of that really bugs me; just the tiny buttons that are hard to "get to" to press. But, I mainly bought it because a) it was cheap, b) I needed to replace one of my iStick30s, and c) since it takes external batteries I thought it was an excellent replacement, for vapocalypse reasons. Still kinda bugged about having to buy new different batteries for it, but what the hey, the Efests are getting on in age anyway, about a year and a half old, so they'd have needed replacing soon in any case. Just snagged a couple of those 25Rs from Ilumn, great price.

I'll probably get another couple of boxes that take external batteries; the Sigelei 30w Mini is probably cheap now, with the fad for astronomic wattage and TC, but I've heard that the threads in those aren't stainless, so I dunno. Weird that they had stainless threads in their Zmax's, but went to softer metal in their boxes. I don't really like to put other things under my attys, I like to keep them as low-profile as I can -- one reason I was fiddling with other attys last night, was looking at how great the tiny Derringer looks on it (my Derringer is black). Got my husband to get out the black electrical tape so I can tape up the other air slot, see if i can fix that one to accommodate my tight-draw preference -- I'd really like to use it, it's so tiny, if I can make the draw tight enough.

Just a fly by post, not a good start of the week. :(
So bad I really thought about smoking a cig yesterday, been a long time since that happened.
I just added some WTA to the tank I was using and it passed.
Water Heater decided it was old enough and died, flooded 1/2 the house.
Took out my modem so I am tethered to my phone to post this, won't have a new modem until Friday.
Well anyway, here is what greeted me at 2:30 yesterday when I got home. :(

Yow! Sympathies, and empathies -- our water heater did that once, fortunately it was a small apt model, but still, when you get to the bottom of the stairs in the morning, you don't expect that last step to "splash." I lost some books, but the biggest PITA was the godawful stink from the old carpet, for WEEKS...

I would love that, thank-you :)

Good idea, Mr. Flakes. The Christmas postal "crazy" will have settled by then. One cannot possibly imagine the mountains of parcels piled high for delivery - that picture is etched in my memory. I still have nightmares ("mailmares") about it

I worked as a CUS driver for a few years. I know all about it. Then add some snow and ice.

Ahh, I don't like that christmas is coming up, mostly because of gifts. I'm terrible at it, and can't afford to all..

So it's either
1. Not for anyone
2. For someone (would be unfair and all..)
3. Give everyone a bag of twist or something.

And I need to come up with a gift for my girlfriend. Last chance is this saturday. Any tips? As I said, I'm the worst person when it comes to creativity and making gifts.

Vapez

Ask them what they want. Been that way for years around here. Saves throwing out the junk in January.

Well - The Innokin ENDURA T18 . . . I've been using one for about a week now, pretty good so far - not to big, simple and very easy to use - even has a Pyrex Tank that's very easy to clean too . . .

Matter of fact, I will be doing a review of it from the perspective of an Old School "Tootle Puffer" . . . :D

Okay - "Tootle Puffers" - As I mentioned before ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

"My" ENDURA T18 Review: Announcing the new Innokin ENDURA!

Really hope people enjoy reading and find it informative too . . .

I'd really wish presents were to the kids. It's a lot of pressure against those who doesn"t have a lot of time. It is nice to recieve and give gifts, but 90% of those either never gets used or is tossed after new years. And it's only just people throwing away money for each other, and end up with less money and less things one wants. One could have saved those money or bought what one self actually wants or needs. And I hate opening up presents. People around watches hopefully and excpect you to love it, while I sit there opening it, have no idea and having a fake positive reaction about how much i like the present.

Don't get me wrong, I like christmas, spending time with the family and that people care enough about me to give me presents, but I don't really see the point. The christmas present struggle has blown out of proportions. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Agreed. Christmas, especially in the US, is over-commercialized and materialistic. I often give giftcards.

Nah, no way I can get used to using a finger instead of thumb after nearly 2 yrs of thumb firing. My fingers just aren't that dexterous. But considering that the screen faces you when thumb firing... clearly it's meant to be thumb-fired. The only thing I've ever seen that seemed suited to finger firing is the Provari, since the screen and button aren't on the same side. Which is maybe one reason I never really liked them, since I'm strictly a thumb-firing vaper.

Andria
I'm a thumbfirerer too! The weight of the mod helps to push the button that way, easy on my worn out joints :D I tried using my index finger on the subox just now and this button is responsive enough to make that easy. But my Dani's button really needs to be pressed, so I need the weight of the mod (it's a heavy sucker) to help me press it....

Man that definitely sucks. We were finally hooked up to city water and sewer in August and the water heater went 2 weeks later. Luckily ours is in the garage and it happened at 6:00am while I was having coffee in the kitchen. The lower heater rod blew and just missed my baby!! That would have sucked for sure!!
Hope your insurance covers the damage.

This is my baby!!

During our family get togethers we have a $20 limit for the adult gift and it becomes fun rather than a chore.

As for giving your partner a gift. It's a tough one. What about offering to go with her to the Boxing Day sales and giver her a $ value to spend. That way she know that you care about her enough to actually go shopping with her. Make the day about her without any angst on your behalf, carry the bags, make sure she has fun.

Oh crap, that sux!!!! But, on the positive note, you didn't succumb to the tobacco monster with so much stress. Well done! Hope everything can be repaired before Christmas.

I am so happy that Christmas is still not really about gifts in my country, we have the St Nic festivities for that purpose on the 5th of December. St Nic is too much work already....weeks of shoe-placing beforehand, and yes, those shoes better be stuffed with something in the mornings ;) And the the climax on the 5th of December....every gift has to have a poem about the person who receives the gift and they need to be giftpackaged in a special, creative way. Fortunately, the giver stays (or should stay) anonymous, since all presents come from St Nic. At the end of the evening everybody tries to guess whom they received their gift from. Lots of fun during preparation time , but also a lot of work!

Oh my word, I am so sorry! Very glad you didn't have a smoke handy, that is some stress. I hope you don't lose any more than throw rugs. Hugs!
