Well, nobody answered, so maybe I'm the first to run across this, with the kbox (subox) mini -- and yes the "poppping up" does work -- it's recognizing the coil this morning. But it may need to be more gently done than with the vv3's.
Andria
Andria, I didn't get a chance to reply about this last night. But I have the same problem with both of my kbox minis I just received. I solved my problem by using smok afc's on both of them. I always use those on my mods anyway, so no big deal. I've found them very handy now that I'm using rebuildables, since a lot of those have shorter center pins. That saves me the problem of having to adjust them differently for each of my mods. I think one of Mad Vapes circuit board spacers would also work well.
I'm really not liking these as well as my istick 30W. There are several other issues that annoy me. The screen is really dim compared to other mods, and since it is so tiny, it's really hard to read. And then they decided to put the volts at the top rather than the resistance, which is different from every other mod I have, so that took some getting used to.
Another issue is the fact that the positive pole of the battery goes to the bottom instead of the top, as with most other mods. I just know that one day I won't be paying attention and will put a battery in backwards. Hopefully the board has protection from that and I don't fry the board. Then there's that awful tiny little fire button. It's not very comfortable to me and is not nice and clicky like I'm used to. So I get a lot of phantom fires when I use this. And I don't know if it's because I'm not getting the fire button pushed right, or if there is an issue with the board.
And last but not least, turning it off or on requires 3 or 4 times of clicking the fire button 5 times before it finally does what I want. To say the least, I'm pretty disappointed in this mod. I'm glad it was cheap. Everyone complains about the iSticks being cheap, but at least they're a comfortable mod and do what I expect them to do.
