There will come a day when our family Christmas Eves will change shape; the "kids" will splinter off in different directions and mom & dad will (gulp) no longer be with us. Knowing this, I make certain to savour the moments, allow my heart to soak it all in.

ROFL!!! What I want is, to win the lottery, and not get any older. You know which of those is more likely...

I guess I'm wiser than I used to be; I've learned that what I want doesn't really matter that much, and to be as happy as I can manage with what I have.

I'm happy to be a non-smoker. Sunday on the way to my folks', I went into the store to buy a Pepsi while my husband gassed up the truck, and encountered a lady buying beer. My first thought was, holy cow, I'd have killed to buy beer on Sunday, back when I drank -- that's a recent change in GA law. But then I just felt very fortunate to be free of that need. Then she asked the clerk for a pk of some kind of smokes... and I REALLY felt freed then. Went out and shared that with my husband, and received a hi-5.

I too am happy to be a non-smoker. Hmm, seems funny to think of myself as a non-smoker. It's only been 5 months; do I qualify?

A good friend whom I've not seen for about a year, visited last week. We were smoking buddies at work. As soon as she came through my front door all I could smell was cigarettes. Oh Lawdy, what a stench! First thing that came to mind was, "Egads, is that how I used to smell???!!".

That's one of the things I love about vaping; I can puff away and never smell like I rolled around in 1000's of cigarette butts.

Good thing is, after she saw my e-cig she became interested in vaping. Just so happens I googled B&M's for her and there's one 3 blocks from her home.

Here's hopin' she looks into it.

Sure you qualify! I figured I was a non-smoker after 48 hrs without a smoke and not even caring that I wasn't smoking -- but I actually claimed that status when I got past 90 days; I once managed 3 months smoke-free the cold-turkey way, but went back to smoking because I was miserable every minute of every day and just couldn't take it anymore. Of course, I had a relapse at 3 1/2 months, so when I was able to come back to smoke-free, I only claimed to be a non-smoker after a year smoke-free.

At a bit over 16 months now, sometimes I do still have thoughts of smoking... but they're easily dismissed by vaping, so I don't worry about it. I still had thoughts of drinking probably after 10 yrs sober, but I knew by then, just the thought wouldn't hurt me, as long as I don't make those thoughts comfy and invite them to hang around.

I'm also constantly appalled by the smell of a smoker, even when they haven't smoked in a while -- appalled to know that I smelled like that for 39 yrs! Hopefully your friend will jump on it!!
