But the point I was trying to make was that "vaping" was lumped in with "Bae" and "man buns"....and I found that most offensive!!glad I don't Facebook or tweet, etc.

Just the majority of people responding to the programming they receive.Me either. Don't know what all the fuss is.
I never had the patience to order from them....lol
It was bad enough when I hit a manic phase after discovering vaping and decided I was going to create custom accessories. I ordered a bunch of oddball things direct from China and it took forever. By the time I got them, my mental rollercoaster (hey, the metaphor fits the discussion!) took a dump and took my creative desire down with it.
Anything I want to use NOW I will pay more to get it locally, or at least in my own country.....lol
I got myself involved in a discussion with a group of people on FB last night. It was over a meme that had a less than pleasant message involving vaping. Most everyone was YEAH YEAH in agreement, but I...silly me...attempted to correct some misconceptions about vaping, and tried to talk about how people have been able to quit smoking, etc. Mostly to deaf ears, except the woman who'd originally posted the meme, who hastened to agree with me on most points; hers being that "kids" using vaping to "look cool" was what she objected to. Still, most of her friends were blathering on about how nicotine kills, etc. etc. and it was pretty discouraging. Going to try to post the meme here: (BTW...I agree about the "man buns" and "bae"!! hahaha!)

It's the new "trendy" thing for "babe". Baby talk is what I call it. Seems to have originated in California. Bae = Babe. Vaycay= vacation, Cray-cray = crazy. Really stupid sounding, in my opinion!
First started noticing it on FB...then in the Progressive commercials....now it's (ack!!) everywhere!
Well..FB is about the only way I can consistently stay in touch with my daughter & her family (and the grandkids...although they don't post themselves, their mother posts pics of them). I'm lousy with email. I prefer a "discussion" type atmosphere, like here. Where I'm not the only one seeing and reacting to stuff. It's also useful when my Navy son gets around to posting something...sometimes he even is in a generous mood and posts pics of his stay in Hawaii etc. I also have some friends on FB that share my love of books and reading and dogs and cats. I spend some time on Ravelry, too. There is one crochet group that I enjoy chatting and playing some silly games in. Mostly I go there because I get to test some patterns sometimes (free!)...and show off my projects. I'm home bound and disabled. A person has to have some sort of contact with others, don't they? So I guess I've gotten used to using the internet over the past 18 years or so. Remember usenet? lol!Another good reason not to facebook. I've been off for years. Too much bs and I can't stand drama.
But this is ridiculous. Screw those people who pass this crap around.
I think we all agree with your efforts, but even my 25 year old son has given up on the younger generation.Ah well. Guess my efforts at defending vaping bombed here, as well. Sigh.

What was especially discouraging was that the people posting in that thread were all middle aged or older. I don't have any "younger generation" friends on FB ...and my friends don't generally have "younger generation" friends, either. It's just that people who don't understand vaping just don't "get" it , no matter the age. They buy the crud that the media feeds them and swallow it whole. It's a shame.I think we all agree with your efforts, but even my 25 year old son has given up on the younger generation.
I think no one has the attention span to listen, or try to find out the whole story nowadays.
They get the headlines and 30 seconds of the media blurbs and think they know what's going on. Just my opinion.
Ah...never mind! Not at all fourth, Just think in here it's like preaching to the choir.
I've never liked amusement rids PERIOD. Just never liked being a passive passenger. Now bumper cars or go-carts ... that's a different story!
Unfortunately, I can't buy KF or STM's in my country anymore. They are illegalI'd love to be able to buy locally, if the price is reasonable. But buying those items will become impossible after May in Europe anyway, so might as well learn some patience now

I am truly lost in that lingo. Maybe I need to start hanging out on porch with the old folks.
Remember usenet? lol!
