Topping off carts frequently- am I doing something wrong?

Hello all!
Being fairly new to the world of vaping I AGAIN have another question.
I have found that I like the taste,throat hit and vapor after topping off my cartridges. I know this could be a personal taste thing, but out of curiousity how often do most of you top off your cartridges? I have a joye ego that I am very happy with but being the worrisome newb that I am, I wonder if I am doing this correctly? I would also appreciate a 101 on dripping or pointers as to an already exsisting thread. Thanks to all in advance!!!

Nope, you're not doing it wrong. Carts don't last very long, and they also don't vape dry - so there's always some liquid stuck in there, which means you have to top up more frequently. Incidentally, this is why a lot of people don't like carts.

You can try modding them to perform better. A lot of people like the Fluval mods. But personally, I wasn't willing to bother. I moved on to dripping.

Dripping is fairly easy. After cleaning the atomizer, you need to prime it with at least 4 or 5 drops.

When it starts to taste a little dry (you'll see less vapor and flavor before you get the dreaded "dry hit") top off with 2 or 3 drops right on the atty and vape away.

There are 3 ways of doing it.

1. "Tail piping," which is putting your lips right on the atty and vaping that way. But this gets hot on your lips.
2. Removing the filler from a cart, and using it as a mouthpiece. But you have to take it off every time you drip.
3. Using a drip tip. These are great. It provides a mouthpiece so you won't burn your lips, and you can drip right through the hole in the drip tip without removing anything. Just drip, give a quick blow right into the drip tip, and vape. They only cost a few bucks.

I use the Blue Foam in all my carts and I use it as a plug. I used to have to top off my carts all the time with the standard fill but now I can vape all the juice in the cart without any problems. When I get a dry taste I know the cart is empty and just change it with a fresh one that I filled the night before. I usually prepare 5-6 carts the night before.

I cut the blue foam so that it is a reasonably tight fit in the top of the cart, they are only about 1/4" long. The rest of the cart is filled with juice, no foam (hence PLUG). To refill I simply take the plug out, put in 10-11 drops, replace the plug and top off with another 4-5 drops. Ready to go. Oh, and it doesn't leak!!!

Too often! I also got ego and I keep getting burnt taste despite the carts being full. I notice only the tip on the atty side is dry. Yup so I had to drip and use tweezers to pull it so it flushes nicely. I stopped using carts after 2 days and went to using cartos and dripping.

I alway drip 3 drops and it gives me about 12 good hits, then I drip again. If you've got a drip tip it only takes like 3 seconds to drip and you're vaping again. I've got deldrin (aka plastic), aluminum, and stainless steel drip tips. I like the cheap plastic ones the best. If you chain vape on a metal drip tip it gets kind of warm and I don't like it. Throat hit (TH) and vapor production are like when you first put a new cart on. It does seem like the flavor comes through better for some reason though.

I got my drip tips from here. shipping is like $1'ish. Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.
I got different types stainless steel, plastic, aluminum (most used).
I think it's good to get a drip tip and give it a try, very affordable. I think I get more dripping than fill cart+topping it.
3 drops give me a good 10 puffs but will get some burnt taste around 15th puff.

I use a basic black delrin drip tip with a wide mouth that I got from WordUpEcig.com. Works great. The wide mouth is nice, so you don't feel like you're trying to drip into a pin.

Yup, 2 or 3 drops, 10-ish drags, maybe a couple more, and repeat. It's kind of like lighting a cigarette.

I get better vapor and flavor than I did from carts. I think it's because they're always in that "equilibrium" state when you learn how to drip efficiently. With carts, they start off too wet, then there's 10 good drags, and then they're too dry. I'd rather eliminate the too wet and too dry and just drip to get the perfect equilibrium all the time.

I don't think that this is wrong in any way. You can of-course do it. Doing performance to better of anything is not a wrong also you are doing this for you only. It is not harmful to others.
