Hello guys,

I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with the Tracer battery button getting stuck? I have had the tracer for I don't know about 6 months now and after about 4 months my button has been getting worse and worse. It does not push in any more but I can still use it if I just press hard on it. It constantly goes off in my pocket and I have to spam it about 15 times to get it to lock on and off.

So my friend also had a Tracer and stopped using it and just gave me his battery and I have been using for about a month now and it is happening again. The button is not as bad but is now getting stuck so I can just be holding it and it goes on on it's own. Now I am really getting frustrated. Even when I lock it off, in my pocket it just turns back on and runs in my pocket. Is their anything I can do to fix this?

I have emailed Halo support on this a few months ago and they told me to just rub it with a q-tip with rubbing alcohol which did not work on the first Tracer. Also the only other item I keep in my pocket with the Tracer is a Triton tank.

I would get back on the horn with Customer Service Halo. Unless there was a juice leak onto it, this sounds like a manufacturing issue, and a safety issue. I hope they do the right thing by you. And tell them that you called earlier, maybe the issue started while it was still under warranty (60 days)?

As a LAST resort, I would try some compressed air for keyboards. Spray around the button, and press the button and spray the edges. I don't have one, so I can't tell you more, like how to open it and inspect the actual switch. The button you push is just an extention to the little momentary switch.

I have heard of the reactor (and the iStick 50w) having unintended firing issues, too.

Good luck!
