Great tip. Thank you. I was wondering on size...was hoping it wasn't the size of a stamp. How were they to apply?
I haven't applied any yet. I'm currently working on a glass tank and will try them on those as soon as I get the tank down right. Did you get the static cling or stick on?
Stick on. I figured the static cling ones might not hold up to cleaning and handling.

This would be good for a simple transparent color change...
all it is, is transparent heat-shrink, no need to worry about stickiness or edges.
its used in the RC industry to wrap and protect battery cells. so even a local RC hobby shop should sell them.
i would also recommend this stuff for protecting circuit boards within a mod from juice leaks.
you would have to verify the diameter, pre & post shrinking, to see if it fits your tank/battery

I tried the sticky on on a polycarb tank. It stuck, but I think it appears that the stickiness on the edges will wear shortly and not hold. I tried a "super glue" seal where the two edges meet, but that may have made it worse. Any luck with yours?
So far mine has held. The tank is shielded, so it does not get handled much. I think if it were rubbing around in my pocket it would likely come loose. Did the super glue eat the tank at all?
You bet it did. I'm going to try and put a thinner piece vs. the thick textured film. It seems like that would stay better.
That might do it. The kind I got was just thin colored tint in a few colors. No texture. I was tempted to try the textured ones on the site...looks like you could get some cool efects. The lengths you go to trick out a PV.
