On a cold wind to Valhalla
Hi everyone,

Well I started with a Volt starter kit and it worked in stopping me from smoking.

I soon learned that while the cig type PV's are good for stealth (at work, etc.), I'm forever charging my batts and filling the carts.

So, I put in a pretty big order from SI because the Volts work so well.
I got the 650 and the 1300 batteries. I also got a few each of all the clearomizers. The nano's, X2's, T3's and the CE3's.
So far I've tried a Nano and the X2. They work fantastically IMHO. Very happy.

My question if I may is this, just how leak proof are these clearomizers? Can I put them in a case and in my jacket without them leaking all over? Can I lay them down on their side without worry or do these always need to be upright?

Thanks in advance for any help.

What???? Wife and I just got back from 4 hour flight each way and we had no leaks what so ever

Really? Were you on a bigger plane that was better pressurized than smaller planes? I’ve never tried this myself, but I’ve seen several other people say that their clearos leaked a lot during flights.

I don't know about air pressure cuz I have yet to travel by air since switching from cartos to clearos.

But I keep a couple clearos full of juice in one of those small zipper cases SI sells. It stays in my rather large purse. I am not gentle with my purse. It gets shoved in a small locker at work. It gets tossed around the living room a lot as I tend to set it down in the Hubby's favorite chair. (hee hee He HATES that!) But most of all, it gets slung over my shoulder over and over cuz it keeps slipping down my arm.

Never had a clearo leak after this treatment. I've had them leak after I took too long to fill or didn't screw the mouth piece back on all the way or over filled. But not from getting jostled around.

Wow, for some reason I didn't get notified of all these replys. I know I'm flagged to and I do for other threads. Sorry.

For my flight next month I'll take the major precautions that are mentioned here like the zip locks.
But I was also wondering for everyday use. Can I just put a clearo in my pocket, side ways lets say, and not have it leak? Assuming that it's not leaking already. I also got that nice bigger case from SI and it certainly will hold everything I need for a day or two but I'm hesitant to put full clearos in it and shove it in my jacket pocket. Can they actually go upside down? They might end up that way. Would it leak out the mouth piece?

I know this might end up being trial and error by trying it out for myself. I think I'll put a full one in a zip lock and then in the case and try it out.

Thanks for all the replies!

Only--My experience with clearos has been: "it's hit and miss". A clearo that has never leaked before, will, without fail, in the very worst situation, leak. I now never carry a spare X2 with clearo attached, as my beautiful blue 650 was murdered by it's clearo. That particular clearo never leaked again. I carry a spare filled clearo and a spare X2 with me wherever I go. The clearo is always in it's own ziplock. Sometimes it clean and dry and sometimes I have to wipe it off and toss the baggie. As they say on ECF: YMMV.
