I've crossed borders (by air) without any issues so far. I've had a few questions but "it's an e-cigarette" has been enough. Mind you, the last time I travelled across borders by air was a few years ago now (2012). On the domestic front, as a Canadian, I can confirm that the airlines do want to know if you're packing Li- batteries. Pressure and temperatures are a potential issue. I've been travelling with my istick and sneaking my mod batteries through in checked luggage, personally.

You're definitely allowed to have personal electronics with batteries. This includes e cigs; I've traveled a couple times domestically and through airports since vaping, and I always make sure it's out in the open, same as my cell phone, when I get my luggage screened.

Assuming you're talking about flying...
TSA knows what a mod is - I've had NO trouble and I carry a fair amount of stuff. Stuff that LOOKS like detonators, lol.
You want all your vape gear in CARRYON. Batteries in luggage is a no-no, but are OK in carryon. Not sure what VV heard (above), but IIRC, the rules is specific - no batteries in checked luggage. Though you DO want to ensure they are in a container that prevents a short - no loose batteries, please. Liquid is OK, too - just no 100 ml bottles...

edit - I don't pull it out or anything - it's all in my laptop bag. I DO pull the laptop out. :)

Yeah, I should have specified that they're specifically concerned with lithium transport in CHECKED baggage since it doesn't have the temperature control of the cabin. Pressure and temps can get ugly if you're packing lithium batteries in standard checked luggage.

Yeah, it's a definite no go situation there. E juice is fine in pretty small quantities; 100ml bottles are good as long as they're in a quart bag, right?

I fly almost weekly and have had almost no issues. The tsa knows what vapes are so they won't hassle you more than the usual attitude and rudeness. Usually I only take 2 isticks and an ipv mini,a few tanks and a few bottles of juice. My carry on got too heavy with more than that and the stuff I need to carry for work. I always put the lil case with my tanks in the tray as I've been told they can look like bullets in my bag and also my juice in the tray to avoid being pulled aside and a bag search for the dreaded liquid thru security.
