Dear friends

I am going to sunny Egypt on Tuesday for 2 weeks from UK and travelling with Monarch Airlines. I will of course be taking about 5 bottles of 10ml e-liquid and a half gone bottle that is 50ml in hold luggage along with 901, pen, Kensington battery and their USB passthroughs.

Do you think airport security will be OK with a Janty Dura-C and 5 prefilled carts going through hand luggage? I know about the 100ml limit on liquids but will it be likely that it looks like a bomb on the scan even if I place them all in with other electronic devices such as a PSP?

Thanks!!

Thanks chief druid, glad I am not the only one hehe! I may add that I thoroughly checked out the Monarch site, it would seem bunging a lot of e-cig stuff such as liquid and the odd battery in hold luggage is OK but as ya know, stuffing bits into the hand luggage is now harder than ever and any liquid has to be sealed in a baggie of a certain size and comfortably fit the container, said baggie must also accommodate the contents of lighter fuel in a lighter in ones pocket !! I also learnt that mobile phones are prohibited from the hold luggage but not from hand luggage weird or what!!

Oooooh watch out for the metal bits ! Airport security may just want to 'confiscate' your dura parts and vape it themselves :D I only have 1 Dura battery, atomiser and charger but that OK, I bought a trial kit, I decided not to buy the full kit after being burned with the EVO and being suspicious of reviews! Luckily I really like my Dura and its perfect for those almost midnight and just broke out the airport kinda vapes hehe especially with the manual battery! Its also great that it can use 901 carts which really surprised me!! The more I think about it the more I think I will be just fine, I won't vape on the plane tho, only because my mother will slap me hehehehe!

Tribal, trust me you won't have any problems. Now if you act paranoid around security, that's another conversation.

You should have no probelm with security but if they ask just explain how it's a PV. If they are curious in Egypt just mention intellicigegypt.com and the Egyptian Ministry of Health. Although you can currently smoke just about anywhere in Egypt, shops, cafes and airports, the government is intending to bring in restrictions in the near future.

What interests me about this post is that whereas the rest of the TRAVEL & E-CIG forum threads deal almost exclusively with air travel and airports, this one also contains a clue as to where you can restock if you have lost your vaping gear in transit, or simply bottled it, regarding taking it through security.

It seems to me that an emergency list of country by country supplier contacts where you could restock rapidly would be a great help.

Or even a firm specialising in rapid courier service for travellers to specific countries.

Our suppliers' list at
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/531-general-list-suppliers.html
shows US UK CANADA EU CHINA NETHERLANDS GERMANY AUSTRALIA SOUTH AFRICA PORTUGAL ESTONIA and then WHOLESALERS, mainly working from CHINA.

Perhaps suppliers could collaborate to produce an emergency service worldwide contact list for travellers?

Or is this just a daft idea?

Hey tribal, I'm sure you will be fine! I took a bag containing 2 Evos and a penstyle and a passthrough in my hand luggage through security at Glasgow and Gatwick earlier this year! Bottles of liquid were in my hold luggage but I had several carts. I also forgot to remove my bag of <100ml liquids from my hand luggage, and nothing at all was said about any of it!

I read someone else had an issue with a passthrough in the USA, so I will pack it in hold luggage from now on (if I bother taking at again - never used it in 2 weeks!).

Have a great holiday - I'm jealous! You must be dead excited - not long now :D

Caesarea - not a bad idea actually! I do think though, it would make so much sense if e-cigs were universally accepted and sold in airports both pre- and post security and on board. They'd make a killing on 'em!

Yes, I 've gone as far as to ask for e-cigs in the duty free shops then do a bit of gentle education on what they are.

But y'know people are gonna be happier if there is a quick bail-out opportunity or even several in the country they are holidaying in. Luggage gets lost. Thieves abound. Equipment packs up. Sh.. happens.

So in Tribal's shoes I'd be glad to have a number or two to call.
Bon voyage Tribal! BTW, couldn't Mum carry the atties and you carry the batts?? I put my eliquid in the hold with my cosmetics, among the nail-varnish...

Why not post a new thread with that request?
