Tried boiling cartomizers and the caps came off

I read that you could clean the cartomizers by boiling them. The end caps came off. Now what do I do?

both the top and bottom came off?

usually i will run hot water through them and let them dry. the top cap is easily replaceable
not sure what to do if the bottom falls off

When I boiled them I always took the caps off first, they can't take the heat.

If the caps came off just the mouth end, then just put them back on

I may be wrong, but I'm guessing these were the hard caps that are glued in? I always make it so I can remove those to refill them by holding that end in boiling water for a minute or so. That melts the glue so the cap will come off. You can just pop them back in and they'll stay just fine.

Use the caps from your older cartos if you have any.If not,get some new ones.

Yeah, you do need to remove the caps before submersing them in boiling water for any length of time. Like upinthehills said, dunk just the mouthpiece end in boiling water for as little as 30 seconds and the cap should come out. Boiling them with the caps on will result in deformed caps (as you probably already know ).

It is the mouth end and yes they are deformed but the cartridges themselves warped also.

So just running them under warm water will get the old stuff out? I know how to to that spin thing but it seems a bit time intensive. Any other suggestions.

Just rinse them under very warm running water,then blow them out and let them dry for a while.
