So I went to the dentist to have a wisdom tooth out. After removing it he asked if I smoked. I told him no but I vaped. He got a big smile and said that was great and that he has seen vast improvements in his patients oral health that have switched to vaping. So now my doctor and dentist both approve of vaping.

I had to have all my teeth out last year. I think I had a total of about 18 or 20 root canals in my mouth and most of them had failed so the dentist suggested a full mouth extraction. It's funny to me but even though I hadn't smoked cigarettes in 2 days prior to seeing the dentist, he still knew that I was a smoker. After the surgery he advised me to stop smoking cigarettes for at least as long as it takes for my mouth and gums to heal and then went on to suggest that I might want to investigate "vaping" as an alternative.

He went on to tell me that he used to be a heavy cigarette smoker and went to vaping as a way to quit smoking, and eventually he quit vaping too. He did say that I might have kept my natural teeth longer if I wasn't such a heavy smoker. Although all the root canals that I had done in my mouth over the previous 20 or 30 years certainly didn't help that I didn't visit the dentist to make sure they were still okay, I just figured, no pain, then they must be okay until I started to notice discoloration of my teeth beyond just from smoking.

It's nice to see dentists and MD's that are advocating vaping, just kind of sad that some of them don't even know what vaping is.
