Dave - I haven't had that experience of the bottom wick being in there really tight. In fact, the first few times I cleaned wicks, the bottom wick came right out on me -- maybe I was squeezing and rinsing a little too rough! My eyesight without my old lady reading glasses is so bad, I didn't even see that little coil in there. I just washed and dried the wicks and put them right back in the "slot" and vaped away. Worked FINE, too. I must have just gotten lucky -- felt really stupid when I did them again with glasses on. "WTH is THAT thing???" I know my buddy JohnnyDill can answer this question when he gets here-- I PM'd him about it a few days ago. If we can figure this out does it count as "rebuilding" a coil or anything cool like that??? I SOOOOOO want to tell someone I can do it! LOL!

I cannot get my (orig) bottom wicks to move from the coil. I'd like to move them just to expose a new part of the wick under the windings. But they don't budge.

What's the secret?

Mine slide easily side to side when wet, if they're burnt I always just slide it slightly to the side. As for re wicking them, well I plan on trying but we all know in my case it's just gonna end up broken

OK, I tried it with 4 coils today. One did move, I moved it to a fresh spot, and off I go. The other I ruined, broke the coil. Oh, well, I have spare parts for the others now. The next two didn't move, I didn't force them. No means no.

Oh, the one I broke was so encrusted, I didn't feel too bad. Wow, that wire is thin. Thinner than the high string on my Strat at .009

They're the same as Kanger T1s, and there are lots of videos on you tube for rebuilding!

Sorry to hear your stuff is broken. Try wetting the wicks and pressing them. I'm trying to find resources on rebuilding the coils which I'm sure will include better ways to re-thread wicks. I'll post if I find anything.
