OK so I have been reading how to change the coil in my aerotank from a DBC setup to a vertical coil. I was able to do everything and have 5 separate coils I did this with. They all run at 1.6-1.8 ohms and vape very well.

I used 28ga kanthal wire and that organic Japanese cotton. What my problem is related to the tank flooding. No matter how much or how little cotton I use the coil constantly floods or has an excess in it. Doesn't matter if I vape at 12 watts or 20 the problem still exists. My best result has been using a generous amount of cotton but like I said, no matter wat it continues to flood out and gurgle and spit almost all the time.

Any Post I've read about this everyone says there coil doesn't spit or gurgle so I'm not sure what's going on... Is it the cotton, is it me? I've rebuild these coils like 30 times over the night and have gotten nowhere... Can someone someone please help?!?

Thank you so much

I actually thought of that and checked and double checked. Being that I had like 5 separate coils to try it on it isn't the coil. I also checked the gaskets. I just have this feeling the cotton may be the problem but it is that organic Japanese cotton everyone seems to use. I'm not sure what it could be... I'm using the new manger coilcoil not the old one... Maybe the 4 holes it has on it are too much since this used to feed the crummy dual coil setup that was in there

Same problem here... but i use cellucotton vertical setup.. gurgle n spitting all the time.

Its funny because the guides I've seen and posts I've seen all the people say they have no gurgle or spit...

But again all thalle guides say u need to experiment wwith the cotton...

I'm thinking those 4 airholes just saturate it too much. Wish I had a soldering iron so I could block off 2 holes to experiment

It's not the four holes. I throw the wicking rings away when I rebuild and don't use them at all with everything from 85% Vg to 40 % Vg.
I use 28 ga Wrapped 8 times and then Japanese cotton wrapped enough to fit snug inside the coil head. The MAIN thing I've seen in order to keep them from seeping into the tube or base is the cotton HAS to fill the coil head top to bottom. There can't be a gap between the chimney and there can't be a gap at the base. I completely leave the wicking ring off when I rebuild without leaking, gurgling, or dry hits.
Try taking your wicking ring off with needle nose pliers and make sure there are no gaps between your cotton and head.
