Im thinking about getting a tank for my home vaping for the ease of fill, long time till next refill, and for the consistent vape. My question is the mess worth it? You have to slide it up and down to refill it getting liquid that can drip down on your battery. And also they dont screw to the pv so it can slide off and leak and all kinds of stuff. Are the risks worth the rewards? Or am I better of using a mega dual coil carto?

I for one, do not use drip tips, - The mess, and the constant dripping drove me crazy. Carts- I also do not use; once you use them. you cannnot change flavours- And while I know people do wash them, and boil the,. and all this other nonsense, They are only good on Joytech 510 small batteries. Once you clean them they will never work correctly again.- I would just toss them out once a week.

I used the stardust; and then went to the best of the all, Kanger2 Clearomiser. easy, simple; no leaks, no BS, just good flavour. Replaceable parts, replaceable heads, simple 2 second cleaning.- Bottom line on top, I love them. No leaks and simply just no BS

I use my Smoketech tanks more than anything else for all the reasons you stated above. If you use a "fat" drip tip the tank will never be able to slide off the carto.

I have filling down pat and never so much as lose one drop of juice.

The one thing I do, do thats different is I like to use single coil Carto's instead of the duel coils.

Nothings easier than filling up a 6 ml tank in the morning so you are set for the entire day and when they are working well every hit is consistently good.
A couple added plus's you didn't mention are my juice seems to go a lot farther using a tank than it does using a clearo and I don't seem to have nearly as much of a problem with my juices turning dark like they do in top coil clearo's like the Vivi nova.

Give them a try.

Using a dct is not really as hard or messy as it seems. Lots of people use them and as fish says above the juice doesn't darken or at least it hasn't on mine. Each has its place. Personally I prefer the nova but I use both. I just don't want to be tied to cartos. If you do decide to use those the single coil pre-punched cartos work best depending on your juice. The dct has a bit of whistle-ing noise when you take a vape that just makes me crazy. In the video you will hear it if you listen closely.

You really can't go wrong with a vivi nova IMO. I haven't had one leak in 3 weeks of using 5 different models, be it skinnys or normal.
tanks are great with cartos till one day they start leaking. For me once the leak starts I'm done. Empty out and start over. When I'm home it's no big deal to use multiple things but when I'm out which is most of the time the nova is it for me.
BTW there are tank filling tools to make it easier, and certain tanks have little grooves that help keep the carto in place.

Edited for your post above.. At the moment right now I have a full nova filled with bobas.. People say bobas is the thickest juice ever so if thats true then It has worked the full day without any sort of burnt taste.. Just my two cents..

That is hardcore personal opinion.

What he said ^^

anyone use this carto tank with a locking feature at the bottom, also keeps the tank from spinning.
Artemas Locking 510 DCT, Clear

Maybe if madvapes didn't drop their stupid watermark on everything I'd try it^^

Overall, I'd say get a DCT with a drilled hole and a plug, you fill from the side, and once you get it down, you'll NEVER have a problem with spillage or leakage. Get the fat drip tips, and your tank wont slide off (though I've never had that happen anyway).

I ONLY use the Smoktech 2.5ml DCT as of right now. I'm working on modding my carto's now, to see what kind of interesting results I get. Anyway, don't listen to the people who are trying to scare you into or out of anything. In my opinion, grab a few different things, and if they require components a few refills for each. Figure out what you like, then stick with it. Worst comes to worst, get verified on the forum, and sell or trade the stuff you're not interested in on the classifieds... (I am personally planning on buying a few different types of tanks, as well as 4-5 6ml smoktech DCT's and a 2-3 more smoktech 2.5ml dcts ( I currently have 2)

PS. My experience with the Vivi nova is: it's complicated, and it produces a nasty burnt taste most of the time!

I have to agree I would do a clearo vs a carto every day of the week. I started out on the cartos and the small analog looking e-cigs and I was ok, but nothing as smooth and pleasurable as the tanks. I personally have the Ego-T and besides one leak due to user error have not had a *mess* as you put it the whole time. Also the cleaning of the atty is simple and works. I would agree cartos will just hold the flavor and be a toss out item. I will also be upgrading to something like the Mini Nova, or possibly the fill Nova, not sure which yet. Anyhow a clearo tank is much better and really does not have a down side to them.

Either use a Tanks - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop Side screw makes it easy and clean to refill tank and also makes it easy to depressurize tank. Or you could get a Drip Tip Tank Filling Tool. I use the Mom and Pop Tank- doesn't look so pretty but for at home works great. For away from home I use the drip tip tank filling tool.

I've used cartos, clearos, bottom feeders, dripped, and I like the Carto tank the best. I have a 5ml with a 1.7 ohm smoktech carto single punched in it. Keeps me going all day and then some.. I just pop the top off and slide the carto out a bit to where the punched hole is barely outside the tank, fill it up to the top and slide it all back together.. No mess at all. A lot easier than constantly filling a carto to makek sure its wet. I never could get the ce4+ style or the Nova to work consistantly. But if you have the money, just place an order with a few different things in it and see what works for you. Different strokes ya know.. Just keep on vapin!

the best way to find what is right for you is to buy 1,test it out, then go from there.Find a vendor that has a few items that you would like to try out and go for it.Also I might add that when testing new items out,go with a juice/liquid that you use on a regular basis at first which helps me greatly.:2c:
Personally you would have to pry my dcts out of my grip, the first was bought about 2 months ago and I just changed out the o-rings to avoid any potential messes,as it has been stated previously I have also switched to single coil carts that are predrilled(3 hole in my case)and have the flange, between the flange,an ego tank collar, and a ming style driptip I have never had a tank slip that wasn't directly my own fault eg trying to slide the tank for filling and grabbing the tube instead of the bottom cap.
I have drilled, tapped, and screwed 2 of my tanks for "ease of filling" but I can fill my tanks quickly either way.In my experiences the biggest issue would be inconsistency in the cartos, though with patience that can even be worked around.
