Hey fellow truckers - where are you???

I have been at this for over a year now, always carrying an ego twist around my neck and a box mod Ovale v8 in my pocket. Though I have a lot of others, I always have these when walking around truck stops.

I never ever see anyone else with them, and am always getting questions about vaping. I KNOW I can't be the only one out here!

So - what are you using? Do you carry it around in truck stops???

I don't drive, but my husband does. I haven't started vaping yet; my "stuff" should hopefully be in tomorrows mail. I've tried to explain it to my husband, but I think it's something he needs to see to understand. I don't know if it's something that he's going to be able to get into. I hope so, but we'll see.

Good luck!

Most 'truckers' I talk to about e-cigs are thinking those cheap and (generally) nasty one's they sell in truck stops. Joy, mistic, blu, and a few others.

I try to explain the 'fun and enjoyment' of an ego- twist, with RY4 or candy corn, or ?? flavor, the fact you don't stink, save money, etc etc. I give out lots of business cards, and website links out to truckers from places I've done business with.

After 30 years of smoking, and various methods of trying to quit. This works. One year now.

Im not a trucker but I travel for work and pull my Travel trailer with me as I go from job to job I usually make at least 1 trip cross country per year. When I drive I use ether my Stallion or Man Cave Mod They both have a big batteries some times I use one of my dual 18650 box mods also. I just dont want to worry about running out of battery! I usually use a carto tank but the Kayfun I think will be good for driving east to refill and pretty maintenance free. In long mode holds a day worth of juice.

I'm a trucker, over the road, owner operator. I use carto tanks with my provari on a lanyard I crocheted for it. I've vaped in truck stops and drivers lounges, no one has said a thing to me about it....yet. That's fine with me. As a female driver I'd rather not be approached by other drivers. It rarely ends well. Smh.

Hat's off to you being a female out here on the road. I'm an O/O too. been at it for 18 years now.

You ladies do not get the respect you so rightly deserve. I think it's pathietic the way this 'industry' treats itself, let alone ladies on the road.

I have a couple of 'store bought' lanyards for the bigger mods I have. I just tend to think they are a little 'bulky' while walking around in truck stops or shippers/recievers.

I am surprised you don't have more people asking about the 'thing' hanging around your neck. I get asked 'what the heck is that' all the time. Though like you said, probably wouldn't end well with the mental attitude of some anyway.

Thanks for the reply!

PS - what are you using for a charger for the batteries???

I have a regular wall charger plugged into an inverter. I have 2 18650 bats and 2 18350 bats that I rotate. It does take a little longer to charge then at home but not much really. I've thought about getting the pass thru adaptor for the provari but the price has to drop first. At that price I can buy all the bats I'll ever need. But it would be handy to get a second provari and just leave in on the pass thru, use a lanyard and hang it from the trolley valve on my dash and use a portable provari when I'm out of the truck. Just something I've thought about. Shrug

Maybe I'll pick up a vv pass thru thingy instead. Idk. I did have so e twist that of use outside of my truck till my son started using them "till he gets his own setup" (rolling my eyes). But the provari is quite heavy hanging around my neck. If I'm at a shipped that wants me to help load in someway, bagging or securing, I'll leave it in the trick.

I just feel that with how well these things are made it can with stand the bumps in the road and constant vibrations of the truck. My first two egos didn't. One the wires came loss and the other button broke after only a few weeks. So I feel the need to use provari's. I only have the one right now but if she lasts out the one year warranty I will pick up another.

Hey folks...
See by my handle I'm not a trucker...
but just crossed my mine that a really big selling point for truckers would be the cost savings over smoking.
Know that you travel, and see all the prices, but cigarettes are expensive everwhere.
Was in NYC two weeks ago...$20.00 a pack downtown !!!! OUCH !!!
And grace, being a O/O, every nickel counts !

Best to you all.

Not to worry. Believe it or not, I also run a wedding dj business too! I've been djing since my late teens, even in the Army. Started in H.S. and live radio, then clubs, roller rinks, eventually working my way into my own business. Now, mostly weddings is all I ever perform at. I got married at 26, and the djing only never kept up with the full time bills, so I started driving to pay the bills. I'll never quit djing. I even have a retirement "dj" plan in place. I'm gonna tour retirement homes, and go by the name "DJ GUMBY". LMAO!!!

On my way home now for a couple meetings with clients on Sunday.

One of the 'slight' advantages of being a trucker is that we DID get to travel, and pick up analogs in cheaper states. OR, in my case, I'd stop at an indian reservation and buy about 10 or 20 cartons and put them in the freezer at home. Especially being from Illinois, it was very expensive!

Not withstanding, vaping is saving me TONS of money now, as long as I quit buying more mods!

You had to be careful about buying several cartons in a different state then where you live. I know this case where a driver served several years in jail for boot legging cigarettes. He had 3 cartons in his truck and had med records showing he was a 3 pad smoker. Still, he was found guilty and served serious jail time.
States getting there well deserved sin taxes is serious bizz pfff.

WoW!

I had not heard of that happening! But... knowing the way our "guberment" works, I can believe it. All about power and money. Heck, I stay out for two to three weeks all the time. I'd almost always have three cartons in here just in case. I was only a pack a day!

It won't be long now before they tax the hell out of vaping too. I'm a DIY'er that is trying to stock up on as much as I can. Wife isn't too happy about seeing all the money going out, but I'm sure once the tax man cometh, She'll see things slightly differently. Especially when the 'advertisers' of blu, mistic, etc are saying ONE carto equals a pack. It's gonna get expensive quick.

Yup I totally agree. I haven't started DIYing yet but I'm planning to in the next month. Once they figure out how to tax it, it's all down hill from there. As the market for E-cig grows the want to tax it will grow too. It's only a matter of time.

I'm planning to get 250ml 100ml nic, it should be enough to last me over a year. By then I hope to be at 0 nic. I haven't tried RBA's. I don't think rebuildables are very truck friendly. I've seen other threads where people talk about dropping it or it falling on the the floor of there car and causing hot spots, shorts, or having to rebuild the coil. Sounds like it would be a real pain to manage in a truck. I do have my eye on a Killer 705 RBA, It replaces carto's in a carto tank. No SS wick, it seems like the coil is more sturdy as its set in a ceramic cup. But I'm not sure about it. Shrug

Have you tried RBA's in a truck?

Making your own juice is actually pretty easy, just have to be careful with the 100mg nic strength. That can be pretty potent stuff if spilled on skin, or you breath it too long. Get the e-juice calculator for recipes, and you will do fine. I'll be glad to help you with what I can, and there is a wealth of knowledge on this site for sure!

I 'stocked up' too on the 100 nic already. I'm making juice for a few friends and couple family members, so I bought a liter of the stuff in a co-op. Based on my math, and current nic levels, and a 'drop plan' to quit for all of us. It's good for two years with plenty to spare.

And the only RBA's I have used, are the Vivi's. and those technically are not rebuildable. I take the bad heads and rebuild them at home. Take about 10 minutes for my clumsy hands per to rebuild. Then toss em in an empty altoids box for future use. I have tbad (taste bud attention deficiency). 6 different (main) flavors in vivi's loaded, and another 6 in DCTanks.

I did get one of those 'cheap knock off' cobra's from fasttech. But it is sitting at home with my latest order that I have yet to get to. Hear it's a not bad knock off, and figure it's cheap enough to experiment with for the truck. If it gets broke, oh well.

I'm always playing with flavors and recipes. Keeps it fun!

Dont lots of research on DIY...check (i'm a reader. grin)
DIY calculator...check (Juice Me Up)
I've already collected some recipes of a few of my fav juices but mostly I like simple single flavor juices. So, I'm feeling really confident about DIYing. I still need to learn to drip and get a dripping atty for tasting. I bought one at a B&M that they recommended, a Joytech 510-T. It reminded me of the ego-c atty heads having a spike down in there. Not sure why it had it. All the same I wasn't impressed, I get more flavor from my cartos. So next I'm planning to try a Bridgless atty or de-bridge it myself, either or. I can't wait to get started mixing my own and making then suit my taste, or lack there of. I'm still having trouble tasting some flavors, sometimes it to weak or I get nothing at all. Like orange and peaches I can't seem to taste. But from what I understand that can still change. (fingers crossed)

Thanks for the offer to help me out DIYing. I hope, in time, I don't make you regret that offer. lol

What you say??? you take the time to actually read information??? OMG how DARE you! LMAO!

I love to read and 'study' up on what ever it is, be it politics to djing and music to vapeing. I live with audiobooks going to the road too. (along with xm since the day it was available. lol)

Your not alone in the 'no taste' flavors. lol.

Since you mentioned 'testing'; I am actually just using my ego-c and those atty's for testing. It's nice that your not 'wasting' a ton of juice, and you can still 'tweek' the mix a little by adding a 'drop' of this or that right into the tank. twist it up let it sit for a while, and re- try again.

I have never tried dripping. I hear it's the ultimate. I just don't have the patience to keep fiddling with bottles and atty dripping all the time.

As for zombie tongue - Oh yea, me too!!!

Orange creme??? -nada. Cheese cake - Nope. Even cotton candy that many swear by, I can't get 'right' for me.

I am loving the richer flavors. Butterscotch's, caramels, Banana, and clear chocolate mixes seem to work well for me. Those types of flavors and mixes are my main stays now.

I'm trying to get a some fruit (grape - strawberry - peach) tobacco's going, along with some of those mixed with chocolate. They are tough, (for me) to get tasty. Especially a grape tobacco. I smoked Sante Fe and Swisher Sweet grape little cigars, along with the occasional pack of peach and strawberry for a change of pace. Miss em.
