Here's another:

WSJ: Trump to Meet With Vaping Industry Representatives
President Trump will meet with representatives of the vaping industry as his administration nears a decision expected to remove from the U.S. market the sweet and fruity e-cigarette flavors popular with young people.

“Will be meeting with representatives of the vaping industry, together with medical professionals and individual state representatives, to come up with an acceptable solution to the vaping and E-cigarette dilemma,” Mr. Trump wrote in a tweet Monday morning. “Children’s health & safety, together with jobs, will be a focus!”

He didn’t say when the meeting would happen, but the policy has been delayed under heavy lobbying.

Reality is that change will happen to address youth vaping. Here's my prescription:

-- Strict bans on advertising of all tobacco and nicotine products
-- Restrict sales to smoke and vape shops, or online with age verification. Strip authorization for sales on the second violation by an entity within a two-year window.
-- Allow underage sales only with a doctor's prescription
-- Establish real consequences for fraud, conveyance, misuse by a physician (i.e. a la pain clinics), etc.
-- Stop demonizing nicotine and encourage the shift of cigarette smokers to lower harm alternatives.
-- Ban employment and insurance discrimination again these lower harm alternatives.

And yes, I personaly find Juul's behavior offensive and egregious. And certainly have no love loss for big tobacco. And thus few qualms on them paying a heavy price for their actions. If above is insufficient, then also raise the minimum age to 25 for purchase of Juuls and tobacco cigarettes (or also force them into age-controlled stores).

Is this a different meeting than the one Trump cancelled late last week?

November 11, 2019 (today)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday
(
today
)
he will be meeting with vaping industry officials as well as medical and political officials to discuss vaping and e-cigarettes, amid a nationwide outbreak of injuries and deaths linked to the products.

This administration canceled all meetings with our rep's last week after meeting with big tobacco and the prohibitionists. This was followed by our "We Vape, We Vote" rally in DC on Saturday where the admin [should have] recognized clearly they were ignoring and angering the largest voting block with a dog in this fight. And would pay the price in 2020. This was followed by Trump's tweet. Now whether this administration actually meets and responds to our representatives (Greg Conley, Grimm Green, etc.), tries another head-fake, or fake meets with big tobacco instead, etc. — and is thrown from office — is TBD.
