Link broken. This has nothing to directly do with e-cigs but it goes to show that they clearly plan on using this new FDA deeming regulation to all but eliminate anything that has anything to do with tobacco from society and it's clear that vaping is in their mind the last stumbling block to do so. Things are getting scary.

Haven't watched the vid (sorry :)) but the assertion is bogus - whilst there's plenty of soundbites out there from anti-tobacco types, the truth is that their jobs are reliant on smokers - eradicate smoking and they're out of work - that's not even touching the whole tax revenue thing.

What they want is the status quo i.e.

Something to campaign against that they'll get funding for that's sold by evil multinational corporations that can never be taken down.

It's a perpetual motion money machine and e-cigs have thrown a huge spanner in the works - all sides - ANTZ/BT/BP are scrambling to get a handle on it and figure out a way to preserve the status quo - sadly the US and the EU seem happy to oblige them...

And yet the US and the EU make up a pretty small percentage of smokers in the world. Whatever is decided will not end smoking in the rest of the world! And this is the kind of thinking that the ANTZ want us to have. Want to get them off the smokers? Get them to consider the much more harmful health issues brought on by obesity, which IS a first world problem!

I'm pretty sure that's going to happen - and personally I think that adding a sin tax on stuff like sodas and junk food isn't a bad idea - no way they'll have the guts to do that though until vaping is regulated and taxed to heck - can you imagine the public outcry if we didn't get taxed but someone buying a KFC did??

That'd be cool if "truth" supported ecigs, highly doubt it. But I love that commercial, great track on it. And I hope they ban/tax the crap out of analogs, even the idea of them make me sick. So many deaths, health problems, money spent and loved ones lost for a pointless addiction. Honestly, if they made analogs like 50 bucks a pack I doubt there'd be too much of a black market, or if there was the majority would still stop smoking. E-cigs are a gateway out of this, hopefully some miracle will happen and they'll stay at least mostly unregulated, then we'll actually be closer to a smoke-free (analogs) population

That plus raising the price of nicquid with comparative taxes would get everyone to consider just what the ANTZ are looking for. Did you have that attitude when you were smoking? How would you feel if you were still smoking today and they raised the price to encourage you to quit? Stop beating up on those that haven't found an alternative yet.

Oh make no mistake these guys are the worst of the ANTZ, and they're going more and more off the deep end after every propaganda campaign. Actual cigarettes are a terrible thing but these people have a borderline fascist approach to dealing with them

Borderline? Surely you mean their approach would've made Mussolini proud.

Still, doesn't raising the prices contribute to lower smoking rates? I know when I smoked I wouldn't have gone to some shady street dealer to get a couple cigs haha

I'm glad you find humor in it.

I've bought bags of pipe tobacco and boxes of tubes to bring the cost of a pack of ciggs down from $10 to about $1
I've grown tobacco for 3 seasons (Easy to grow, extremely difficult to cure properly) with nothing to show for it.

I found vaping and all that was history (except for my daughter who won't switch over, so I still RYO her cigs).

And if vaping gets restricted I will go through the same hoops or more to choose my slavery rather than have it imposed on me. I own a lathe and have a basic knowledge of machining, and an excellent knowledge of electronics. I will persevere.

It means a lot more to some people than to others, apparently.

Nothing borderline about it, except maybe the name of their personality disorder. They're fascist thru and thru, control freaks to the max who think the entire world SHOULD revolve around their desires, and they will stop at NOTHING to get their way -- if that's not a Borderline Personality Disorder, I don't know what is.

Well, they're not sending vapers to concentration camps and shooting them in the streets just yet, so they don't quite qualify as fascist, still the way they do this is completely unacceptable.

That would actually be genocide; the Italians had a fascist gov't, but as far as I know, didn't send anyone to camps or try to eradicate a specific type of people. Fascist is actually a very good description of our entire gov't at this point; everything is state-regulated "for the good of the people" -- and nevermind the individuals that the regulations don't benefit at all.

Of course, the regulations that kept the bankers in check, oh no, they were well-paid to repeal those, so the bankers could sink the entire economy into the toilet with their "derivatives" speculation.

Fascism is a specific economic system where compared to socialism, gov't controls business, rather than owns it. The anti-Semitism was Hitler's and his henchmen's problem. Italy as a general population and Mussolini specifically were not anti-Semitic, but had an fascist economy.
