I'm going to try quitting smoking using my vaping supplies for the fourth or so time tomorrow. I finally have a system down that works for me as far as clearomizers, I know what flavors I like and have a decent stock of them, a bigger stock coming and a few new eliquids being delivered tomorrow.

I'm excited to try to kick the habit again.

Any words of encouragement and/or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Ewieya, let me just encourage you to keep vaping. I had my last cigarette 28 months ago. It has done my lungs a world of good, and I smoked for 40 years. Dr said my lung capacity is now normal.

If you have to, increase your nicotine and if you have to vape all day, it is better than smoking. There is a whole lotta flavors available. Find something you like and have backups for your backups. Best of luck.

Just stay dedicated to your mission. Remember, its not how many cigarettes you smoke now that count, its how many you don't.

Everyone's different. I allowed myself to vape as much as I wanted. If I felt the urge for a cigarette, I vaped more. If that didn't help the craving, I allowed myself a half cigarette (saved the rest for next time).

That second half of a cigarette tasted nasty, which helped me quit. Over the next couple of days I began to prefer the vape over the cigarette. When my last pack was finished, so was I. Not one cigarette since, and haven't wanted one. I will be two years smokefree next month.

I'm here, when I'm here
I smoked for over 40 years my self. After some not so strenuous work during the summer, I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest. Rationed my last pack and flicked my last one in the parking lot of my local vape store and haven't looked back.

It boils down to this. If you want to, you will. How bad do you want to quit? Health reasons? Family health due to 2nd hand smoke? Wanting to see your grandkids grow up? All of the above, and equally, for me.

Just a big pat on the back & a bit of a vocab lesson - you aren't really trying to quit again. You are still trying ;) Big difference. No failures in vapeland, just lotsa continuing to try. I honestly think some of us just take the longer way around (vape, quit, smoke, vape, etc.). I'm here to tell ya... it's all good. Seriously. Just words, I know. But what we tell ourselves matters. So, keep doing what you do. No pressure. You will get there, in your way & on your individual schedule. Go for it - we'll be here cheering you on.

Great post, Red. The "want to" is a big part of it. You've been reading my mail. All of the above for me, too.

For me I stick got the urges on the normal times I would smoke a cig like after eating or with my coffee. Like the others have said it gets easier. For me It was all about the jump in head first myself and my wife quit the same day. We found a juice we liked and have been smoke free since. The hardest thing for us is finding that all day vape. we even lowered our nic levels and that helped in my mind cause now we just vape like a sweat shop.

Ive been done with butts for a month. Good equipment and high nicotine is what made it work for me. Ive tried so many times in the pastand I failed because of bad juice and bad equipment. I was introduced to Halo G6 and was very satisfied with the equipment, but the juice was only 12mg. I craved butts while vaping. I then bought 18mg and still had strong cravings. I then bought 24mg and overdosed on nicotine to the point I didnt want a cigarette or a vape for a while. Thats what sealed the deal for me. I sincerely feel that proper equipment and a strong enough juice makes quitting cigarettes simple. I was a heavy smoker and never imagined quitting would be so easy. I have since moved on to ego twists with mini protanks and am extremely happy from every perspective. Im still at 24mgs, but a few vapes cures every urge I ever have to smoke. I promise you can do it.

I've been switching back and forth between analogs and e cigarettes for nearly three years. I've never seemed to be able to stick with it for more than a week or so.. I've found that if I think of it as more of a fun hobby with fun toys instead of a way to quit smoking, and splurge a little on quality equipment, it makes the ordeal much easier. Of course, I'm only on day 9. But the urges are pretty much gone, which is something new this time around :) Best of luck to you!

It is so nice to wake up to all of the encouragement and tips! Thank you all very much!

The vocab lesson was great, thank you RedVelvet.

And, Simply Red, "How bad do you want to quit? Health reasons? Family health due to 2nd hand smoke? Wanting to see your grandkids grow up?"

I want to quit for health reasons, mostly. I wake up coughing and cough often throughout the day. I've been smoking for 20 years, minus three years- when I quit cold turkey. The cigarettes are taking their toll. I had a lung capacity test a few months ago and surprisingly, my lungs were working well. This is encouraging. I'm sure there is still damage, but maybe I have time to reverse some or I can stop something bad from happening by quitting now.

I don't like that my clothing STINKS- my doing laundry and cleaning my home is for nearly nothing because everything is stinky.

I understand that vaping can be as expensive or more expensive than cigarettes, but I think I can make it cheaper by sticking to a budget. I haven't pulled the cost of cigarettes out of my budget yet. I'm hoping after a week or two, I will be able to lower the amount I'm allowed to spend and change it to money for vaping supplies. I'm hoping to save a little with vaping, in this way.

I don't have children and won't likely have them in the future. I live alone. But I have lots of friends and family who would love to know I quit.

Thanks. It's helpful to write these reasons out.

Thank you all again! Happy :vapor: to everyone! :)

I want to quote everyone on this page, such good advice.

The most important thing is you're trying again.

I smoked for 29 years, 2 packs a day and stopped after my first vape and I think a big part of that was I bought 36mg nicotine. I've diluted it down since then but the big throat hit and good amount of nicotine helped a lot.

Good luck!!
