I know you can't or shouldn't even try to convince somebody to quit smoking but I have been so happy since I started vaping (April) that I really want my best friend to start. She's a very heavy smoker just like I was and is worried about the COST of vaping! I told her to think of it as not quitting smoking but just as an alternate delivery system and that kind of helped, any suggestions?

How is it costly for her to vape when YOU already have the learning curve under your belt? YOUR experience can and will save her from unnecessary costs. She can TRY your stuff which is a HUGE advantage that most of us never had. Toward that end, the vaping community as a whole tries to steer the newbies in the right direction.

I mean, think about it. For the cost of a WEEK's worth of cigarettes it is conceivable that a newbie could buy a PV kit and a couple of MONTHS worth of liquid -- if he/she bought just the right stuff the first time. Your friend has your experience to guide her.

Good luck. =)

Hey Richie.

What's the REAL cost of smoking? Her life, maybe?

But in terms of $$, what's the cost of cigarettes in Colorado? It's very simple math, really.

I purchased a kit of 2 complete 510's w/ preloaded carts, 2 extra attys, empty carts, and juices for well less than ONE carton of cigarettes here.

The bottom line though is you can't put a $ value on your friend's health. Keep on vaping and gently pursuading her. As she sees your success and enjoyment, your friend will come around.

As the saying goes, you can lead her to water, but the drinking is all up to her.

Good luck!

If you have an extra lend one to her sometime when your hanging out. That is what has worked for me with my buddies. Once a person sees that they can get through a night without a cig and don't even miss having one, that is usually enough. Then like one of the earlier posters said, explain how it can be cheaper than cigs if you don't go crazy buying everything in site.

Good luck.

Hey Brad, either that was a spelling error or one VERY CLEVER turn of phrase... "don't go crazy buying everything in [web]site". LOL

Being that you started that wonderful 70s music thread last weekend, I'm going with the latter... a VERY CLEVER turn of phrase.

Just to steer this thread back to where it was --

A carton of cigarettes in NY is about $85. One could buy an eGo kit and a month's worth of e-liquid for that much. Or, an entry level 510 kit and a month's worth of liquid for about the cost of 5 packs of analogs.
