Trying to replicate a Menthol Cig taste

So ive been experimenting with DIY ejuice for a few days, my main objective to try and replicate the taste of a menthol rollup.

The Hangsen USA mix Mint is pretty good but id like to try and make my own.

Any of the menthol concentrates i have tried all seem to be the kind of menthol you get in cough medicine and not the menthol of cigs (more like mint really)

i've got pretty close with 5% peppermint and 5% tobacco flavour, but im wondering if anyone has managed to perfect it yet?

Menthol crystals. Use sparingly as these menthol crystals are very strong. A little goes a long way! You may also make your own menthol drops by placing a few grams of crystals into an alcohol base such as ethanol (vodka).

TIP: To dissolve, fill a container half way with VG or PG, then the other half with menthol crystals. Shake until dissolved. Heating the VG or PG first will speed up the process. Try starting out at 5% in your recipe of that solution that you made.

I use TFA Menthol which is simply menthol crystals dissolved in PG. I mix about one drop per ml of finished juice.

For tobacco flavors that are suitable for a menthol cig taste, ones that taste like just tobacco seem best to me, not RY's with pronounced caramel/vanilla.

Hangsen: the RY1 & Turkish are excellent. Inawera: S'Camel / Virginia Absolute / DNB combo. I put some DNB in the Hangsen flavors too, for ashy notes.

Hope this helps! :vapor:

I crush menthol crystals and fill up a 30ml bottle half way. Then I finish off the bottle with Everclear (Pure Grain Alcohol). You can even add Koolada for extra coolness. This is a very strong flavor and I just add 1 or 2 drops to a 6ml bottle of unflavored juice I make. I love menthol too. You could easily add this to a tobacco flavored juice or anything else for that matter. Good luck to you and happy DIY'ing. :)

I use TFA M-Type at 2.5% with 5-6 drops Menthol crystals per 10ml. It tastes somewhat like Marlboro Menthol but takes a few weeks of steeping before you really want to vape it.

FYI cigarettes have the menthol in the filter rather then the tobacco itself. Which is why it's more minty and hard to replicate exactly in a vape.

If youre trying to replicate Newports, I'd recommend looking for eucalyptus flavorings (if any exist) as Im told by someone who works there that is one of the main flavoring components.

I finally made one that's perfect for me. It's my all day vape. I make mine at 50PG/50VG.

Maxx Blend 1%
menthol 3.3%
1 drop spearmint flavoring per 15 ml

Of course, you will need your nic base, PG and VG and a juice calculator.

Spearmint is a very strong flavor. One drop doesn't look like much, but it's plenty. This is vapeable right away after a good shake.
