I find this to be one of the hardest things to cope with, worse then smoke breaks at work even. The missus still smokes and im back on the vapin wagon once again. We have always smoked outside together and it gives us time away from the skids to plan our next attack on them or ..... about heating season coming up.

Im still staying strong after a week, but i find myself eyeballin her smokin. I love vapin dont get me wrong, but damn it makes it hard havin somebody im so close to still puffin the stinkleaf. As for converting her? Pfft not anytime soon, and if i press the matter then the more she will dig in. Im vapin like 8month old BWB at the moment so ive been stalkin the P.O. for a fresh batch.:p

In December, I will celebrate 5 years vaping. My hubby still has not converted, and probably never will.

I on the other hand can vape whenever and he has to go outside to smoke. It still is not enough to convert him.

I just look at him and smile when he goes out in the rain, 100 degree weather and in the snow.

I stopped smoking aug. 9th after 45 years of wishing. Guess it was answered. I sit right beside my smoker wife without any bother other than hoping one day she will get interested in switching. At work, I still go out with the guys on breaks. I found I prefer the open air to hiding from smokers.

I think you just have to reach the mindset that you are doing what you really and nothing is going to derail that. Best of luck on your journey.

There is nothing easy about two kinds of situations if you vape and live with a smoker:

You either still like something about smoking and that temptation is always soooo close by. Or, you go through that weird change a lot of us do and end up in a place where you can no longer stand anything about smoking: The smell, the smoke the taste - nuttin. The latter - that would be me. It just happens to a lot of us. (I'm trying really REALLY hard to not turn into an anti-smoking nazi.)

The people who don't care one way or the other? Consider yourselves blessed.

Good luck and keep vaping. Beyond that I have no easy answer for your situation.

Being around smokers was a concern for me when I first started vaping-I even had a rule that the one and only place I could smoke real cigarettes was in a casino, but over the past year I have rarely had even the slightest desire to smoke, even in casinos. The trick is finding that perfect device/juice that completely replaces the cancer stick. I'll take creme de menthe vapor over tar and carbon monoxide any day!

Its funny I have been vaping for 2 years and I was never a smoker. My dad started about 4 years ago after 30+ years smoking and never looked back. My girlfriend vapes also after smoking for several years. I don't mind when friends or coworkers smoke but it is a stinky nasty thing. It never really bothered me but after being away from it for so long, I rode with one of my best friends to a wedding this past weekend and instantly smelled like funky stale yuk. I understand but don't miss that since I smelled but didn't smoke. I mostly get "oh what's that, it smells good," type comments.

my gf vapes my stuff but still smokes occasionally. basically if i pay for everything related to vaping and make sure its filled and charged and hand it to her with a bow on it, she'll vape and smoke a lot less but since i dont have a million juices or batteries or chargers, she still smokes here and there. i give in occasionally (maybe 1 cig per week) but her smoking is down 60% and mine is down 99% so its all good. i just have to put more effort into keeping everything stocked and filled and charged and then we should hopefully both be 100% off the cigs. it sux yer wife/gf isnt more open to vaping. she must really not wanna quit cuz usually if someone even marginally wants to quit, they will at least cut down the cigs and vape some of the time.

It took my husband a little while to commit to vaping and stop buying the smokes. I can still see the look on his face when I first turned down his offer of an analog and said "no thanks, my vape tastes much better". lol I have tried to get several family members to quit by buying kits for them, even putting together different juice samples...only one sister is finally vaping and her husband still smokes. I almost think you have to be thoroughly sick and tired of smoking and willing to really give vaping a try before you can switch. That's where I was - sick of all the replacements, meds etc., that just made me go back to smoking until I tried vaping. Hopefully your mate will make the switch. Banana's foster was the one that won my husband over in the end...
