Trying to switch around smokers

I really want to switch to vaping, I tried it once before around 2 years ago and found that I was able to cut back from around 1.5 to 2 packs a day down to only smoking 3 or 4 analogs a day immediately, with a very poor quality ecig i might ad, I soon after moved back to my home state and the one I had I could no longer get cartridges for, and I didn't want to spend 50 or more on a different starter kit, mainly because the only one besides online was from the mall.... Plus it was a VERY sudden move and I didn't have a lot of money to spend experimenting, but I've recently gotten back into researching it, mainly following a battle with a sinus infection that made me realize I can't eat a small sandwich without running out of breath when my nose is stuffed, and I've done the research, decided (basically) what I want and hopefully I'll be getting it for my upcoming birthday, back story now out of the way, my real question is, I did then, and I still do live with a smoker, with another that might as well live with us, I hope I can at least get my girl to switch, if nothing for financial reason, but she's just not as excited and determined as I am, so does, or did, anyone live with an analog smoker when they started and how did it affect you in trying to switch?

I'm two months into my switch, and haven't completely gone over yet, but I'm switching with an analog smoker in the house. My wife smokes analogs still and I haven't really been able to get her onto the vape train... yet. It does make it more difficult when people around you are smoking analogs - for the first two weeks, the smell of a burning analog is almost enough to drive you back to the pack.

My recommendation: get a good tobacco flavor at a reasonably high nic content. That will simulate the analog experience enough for you to politely decline the offer of an analog. Then, when you're not around analog smokers, you can experiment with other flavors and nic contents without worrying about the temptation.

My husband continued to smoke when I quit and still does, although I've gotten him to cut down and take up vaping. It wasn't hard at all to be around him or other smokers, but I really wanted to quit. He wasn't interested in it either. I sort of forced it on him and he likes it enough to smoke 3-5 cigs a day as opposed to 1-2 packs a day.

1 month into my switch and personally I still want to smoke but the minute I smell it I don't. My dad still smokes a pack a day but I'm trying to get him to try vaping. After you start vaping again and find a flavor that can keep you reeled in, smoking will become a disgusting affair. Just a tip from my personal experience, if you ever feel yourself really craving a cigarette, have one. It'll taste like crap and smooth over your transition. Good luck on this attempt!!

I do intend to try and stand strong, I'm planning on jumping in feet first this time, I found a vamo/vivi nova starter kit online, for a good price, maybe not the tanks I'll stay with but I'm a "fiddler" so I was looking for something accurately adjustable with good battery life and reliable, so it seems like a great place for me to be, I'm just worried about finding a good tobacco flavor to start with and not sure how much to order since I'll only be ordering supplies once every two weeks at most, which makes it hard to experiment with sample flavor kits..

The main thing that worries me about quitting (around smokers) is the fact that I don't have the WANT to quite, I just know that I NEED to, mainly due to cost and the fact that I'm almost 21, I shouldn't run out of breath eating a sandwich, I don't want to be on an O2 tank by the time I'm 40, that really scared me, luckily even though it was a very low quality one, that first e-cig introduced me to the world of vaping that I at the time didn't know existed, and made me realize there is an alternative.

I work around smokers all day and it makes me not want one lol. The difference is I wanted to quit. After 2 PAD for 30 yrs I didn't enjoy it any more. I tried almost everything to quit and couldn't. Started vaping and liked it so much I quit and haven't smoked since. Even if you don't quit but cut back to a few a day it's all good. You'll know when it's time for you to quit.
