Really got into vaping due to halo, and now their getting "into the skin" of FDA to fight "for the right"

Hellz yez!

Me too! Started with Halo almost 3 years ago and 2-3 of their juices has been my ADV since the start. Hopefully they can make an impact

Not sure how many watched the House of Lords debate. Just to state it here: Those debating in the House of Lords were completely in favor of Vapor products in the UK as a nicotine alternative to UK smokers where each speaker covered a wide swath of pro- vapor product information. The speakers all stated straight forward that the EU directive will not be allowed to discourage use of vapor products by UK smokers. And the UK will promote vapor products as a safer alternative to smoking. Finally stating that the UK will use the most light handed approach to implementing the TPD.

Something I applaud.......should it hold true, the claim NO Existing Available products will become unavailable.
i.e. they have set at least a minimum baseline for individual preference in device choice.(in theory)

I just cracked open a bottle of Halo Malibu to toast the people who stood up immediately. It looks like they did their homework and were well prepared, like any smart business should have been. I have loved their menthols since the beginning of my vaping journey and here they are stepping up when it matters most!

Checked lawyers. Looking good:
Covington & Burling LLP is an international law firm with offices in Beijing, Brussels, London, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Shanghai,Silicon Valley, San Diego, and Washington, DC. The firm advises multinational corporations on significant transactional, litigation, regulatory, and public policy matters. Covington & Burling LLP consistently ranks among the top 20 on The American Lawyer’s "A-List", based on financial performance, pro bono activity, associate satisfaction, and diversity.[2] As of 2015, it is the largest law firm in Washington, DC.

Can Any shed light on:

NICOTINE IS A DRUG

I have been Searching and Searching and cannot find anything where the FDA(Government) Has Classified Nicotine<Stand Alone> As A Drug.
Yes, Medicines containing<do to FDA Regulation of Medicines> Nicotine are listed as Drugs - This is the FINAL PRODUCT, not Nicotine in the Product.

All I have really found is Nicotine is an Alkaloid
nicotine | C10H13N2 - PubChem

I am of the mindset that Statements like Highly Addictive should come under the same ruling as less toxic and Not allowed :D

Thanks for that - I just missed it! :)

And news that Nicopure Brands (Halo) are the first out of the door with a lawsuit against the FDA: Nicopure Labs Challenges the FDA’s Deeming Rule - Nicopure Labs LLC.

And a great debate on vaping products in the UK House of Lords: Parliamentlive.tv

And this would be worth a few vapers getting stuck into: The F.D.A. Rules Ignore Harm Reduction Benefits for Adult Smokers - NYTimes.com
I'm trying to find a date on when this happened, but can't find any other articles on it.

I've never tried Halo but that's about to change...
I just hope they didn't jump too soon.
Just to help out, Halo's coupon code for 10% off juice is...

ECF2015

And I think Nicopure timed it nicely!

What's that saying... oh, yeah... "Strike while the iron is hot."
It's gonna be interesting to see how many others jump in now that the first returning salvo has been fired.

Yes, nicotine is an active ingredient in a drug, just as penicillin is an active ingredient. The active ingredient is almost always provided for use in various forms, such as injectable penicillin, pills, or capsules. The active ingredient will be combined with a number of inactive ingredients for administration. So inactive binders may be used to create a tablet (or capsule, which have a different set of inactive ingredients such as the gelatin), or specific liquids may be mixed containing the active ingredient for injection.

The FDA began regulating nicotine (no matter how obtained, whether extracted from tobacco or synthetically manufactured) back when nicotine delivery systems first were approved for smoking cessation. Those were the now familiar Nicorette line of gum, patches, oral inhalers, and even a nasal spray. These all required a prescription from a healthcare provider to obtain. In time, gum and patches were allowed to be sold over the counter, not requiring a prescription. The nasal spray version still requires a prescription in the US. These products are also available as generic drugs as the original patents have expired.

Covington & Burling is a well regarded firm. I do hope Nicopure understands the fees a firm like Covington will charge. Firms such as this are far from your local legal firm that prepares wills and handles divorces.

The first three claims argued, which boil down to the agency overreaching their authority and acting in an arbitrary manner creating an undue burden on the plaintiff/Nicopure/the vaping industry will keep the courts busy for quite a while. The First Amendment argument though will likely fall flat.

Yes the fees are high for these attorneys, however the fees would be paid by the FDA if the complaint is ruled in favor of Nicopure. And it is almost a survivalist approach. "We must win, or perish..."

Nicopure/Halo is an American company, manufacturing their eliquid in Florida, and selling hardware made overseas. I think many of the large vape hardware companies are foreign.
