Can anyone let me know how this device works for them? It seems like a real solid three post design, but I'm not sure. My favorite atty at the moment is a Patriot clone, I like the style which the tugboat also uses. Just curious if it is worth it to drop the cash :)

Tugboat is a nice atty. I have 2 of them. Nice size air holes, stock. The only issue I have with them is the bottom o ring. The top cap fits a little loose. The quick solution: Remove the o ring, and put one rotation of dental floss in the o ring groove. Re install the o ring, and it will tighten up the top cap fit.

For me - it is worth every penny I paid (~$80)...and then some. This rda is ROCK solid. Even with no AFC, it still is in my top 2 performers (along with the Stillare v2i). Somehow the draw is just perfect with stock airholes. It also produces flavor easily on par with my Stillare, Zenith v2, CATs and Tobh. I have about 20 RDAs - so my frame of reference is fairly solid - I'd say it's definitely well worth it.

Just an FYI - this could be something to do with a particular run. The cap on mine is not loose - it's not super-tight either - I'd say it's about just right, IMO. Snaps on with a nice, reassuring 'click' and I can hold it up - attached to a mod (w/18650) and even give a shake and it stays together fine.

Could you use a bigger bore O-ring? Is the dental floss trick hard?

I'm sure a thicker o ring would be a better fix. I just keep forgetting to go looking for one when I'm at the hardware store. Meanwhile, the dental floss trick works fine. It's also a handy trick on other attys, when the drip tip is too loose. It's very easy. Just get the o ring out of it's groove, and up out of the way. Usually one time around, sometimes two, with the dental floss is enough. Replace the o ring, which will trap the dental floss in the groove. Clip off the ends of the floss, as close as you can. The o ring will hold the dental floss in place.

Possible; although both of mine were bought from different places, at different times. I wouldn't say mine are super loose. Just a little looser than I liked.

So do these things leak as bad as all the reviewers say they do? I understand that juice condensation forms on the inside of the cap and works its way down the inside walls down to the Oring, Is this correct? This is the ONLY thing stopping me from getting one, Every review i see complains on how it leaks

That's why I did the dental floss thing I mentioned in a previous post. I wouldn't say mine leaked badly, but I didn't want to take a chance. So I tightened up the top cap fit.

I wouldnt say that it leaks as bad as Grimm green says, ive had a Tug since it came out in FEB and it gets a little juice inbetween the cap and the deck, but i think every atty i have does that so i thought it was normal, but besides the TOBH this is my favorite atty out there. It fits dual 22G coils but its vey tight and a PITA to get the wires through the center post.. i also drilled the holes in mine out a little bit and now its perfect for me. I saw that they have new colors of them now so im gonna pick up a couple more of them. just keep in mind with the new colored ones they are a differnt type of metal (lighter and it looks a little thinner, my local shop had a couple i messed around with). I say definetly pull the trigger on that one if you have the funding..

I own 2 Tug Boats and they both have been in constant use on my Panzer BH and Cronus mech mods ever since I got them 3 months ago. Both do "SWEAT" e-juice down the sides which I dab off every time I remove the cap to drip more fluid. That's the only flaw I've had,if you want to call it a flaw.. which I don't since all atty's get wet somewhere eventually. What I really like about them is their cravass-like well,deepest I've ever come across. Easy to build what ever dual coil configuration you like.
Price wise I think the $80 bucks I paid for each of them was well worth it.USA made & a great drip tip w/ large bore that has a delrin insulator so it doesn't get hot although you will set your mod down every so often to let the atty body cool. Air flow I believe is excellent but not adjustable [unless you put a dab of tape over a portion of 1 or both 2mm air intake ports which I did do for a while just to stop the "Tug Boat Whistle" which sometimes can be annoying] and I do think that it should be for that kind of money. The single O-Ring size is hard to find and neither came with any extra parts. I finally found a similar size but it's just a tad thicker than the original so it is a little tight. All in All I would recommend this RDA to any serious dripper.

I'm using a clone of the "Tugboat" RDA and it's working good (big clouds) but every time that I take a inhale the stupid Tugboat whistles! Do you know of a way to stop a rda from whistling?

I would love to buy an authentic one but I want one in a shiny black color (which they don't make yet), but I might have to settle for a regular silver one (unless someone has inside info on their next releases...? :)

TIA!

I just got Tobeco's copper clone of this RDA and I am MORE than impressed...

This thing is without a doubt the most rock-solid RDA I own, and the deep well is lovely. I can drip 15-20 drops of liquid into it and leave it on its side (see below) without fear!

The airholes seem seem just perfect for chucking huge clouds. My only complaint would be that the two negative post screws seem to loosen easily whilst building, although they don't loosen on their own once I'm ready to use the RDA; only when I'm handling the coils after I've screwed the leads in.

@0.51ohms, a 2 ½ second "tug"... ;)
