um, the same way it does now, slide off the door. I'm talking just slightly narrower door so it does not need to be shaped. So by shifting the squonk hole slightly so it barely wraps around the body like a CC v1 squonk hole with the straight edge not curved. Then the door just slides in like it does now. Seems to work with the fancy Italian regulated mods like the SVA mods.

SVA mods have the squonk hole in the door.

I am looking forward to one of Turbo's mods because it looks different than an Evo or any of the others that I own.

rudy, shaping the door or having the squonk hole come into the door really isn't the problem. what it looks like they did there by narrowing the door is made it that squonking doesn't put any outward pressure on the door because the door is so narrow that the bottle only pushes against the battery and doesn't even touch the door, drawback there is the battery has to be removed before you can remove the bottle from the way it looks to me, which isn't such a big deal really I guess...

as you said, I guess you're not very mechanically inclined :p which is why you don't realize that I could not do that with my design simply because I have to machine out the whole bottle/battery compartment through the door opening itself, so if I narrowed this door it would dictate a narrower orifice, I would no longer be able to fit the bottle in there :) I can't see the top or bottom of that mod but I can guarantee you that they had to machine the bottle orifice through an opening in either the top or bottom of that mod in addition to the door opening, they would not be able to machine the whole orifice out through just the door opening for sure, maybe it's bored from the top like a dibi or something then capped with the 510? not sure, but I am sure they couldn't machine the whole thing just through the door opening :)

ultems are shaping up nicely :) ...

if you look at the black 2-tone with the mis-cut squonk hole you can see exactly what I'm talking about as far as outward pressure on the door with each squonk. I winded up making a new tighter fitting door for this one so the door doesn't click in and out with each squonk. I could def do a side squonk hole as long as I keep the door fit very precise and snug...

The evo referenced earlier has a removable, magnetic bottom plate that doubles as a door for the bottle. It is also, I assume, how it is bored

yeah, that makes sense. that's how I have to do my DNA200 over/under mod, it's also bored from the bottom all the way up to the 510, which is why I have to have that slide off lower bottle door too

Correct. Also, the Dea has screw caps on the bottom. One for each of the bottle and battery. Completely different design altogether. Not comparing, just referencing two regulated mods with a squonk hole not located on the side.

Ima just got edjicated!!:?:
So... after all that discussion, I personally like the existing corner squonk hole. Makes it unique in my opinion.
I just put the idea out there out of curiosity. The ultems look great!!:thumb:

I have not been to a place by that exact name, no.
Just curious as I see you are in Nashville. It's Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. On the main drag with all the Honky Tonks. I work at JBM at Mohegan Sun Casino in CT.

Unless it is for a hockey game or a concert, having to wade through the massive number of people isn't much worth it.
