I have been vaping for a little over a month at this point, found a couple of juice flavors I love for my go to. Have read a lot of information here, but still like many people I was having an analog every so often (doesn't help that I live with other smokers).

Then last night I went and got an analog, lit it and OMG, it was the worst tasting thing ever at that point. I needed that tho, now I have no desire to pick one up today.

Yeah living with other smokers has been the worst part of making the switch, my sister tho did try an e-cig, but because of her medical issues it is not a very good option for her.

Whay kind of medical issues? Smoking analogs aren't a good option for anyone. I've got several medical problems myself but finally got smoke free after 50 years by vaping.

She has major breathing problems, asthma and COPD, and no the analogs are not good for her either. While vaping is safer than analogs, the vapor adds to her problems. Watching what she has gone through this last couple years tho is one of the big reasons I started looking at this.

My friend decided to bring me a "gift" a couple of weeks ago ... a pack of Djarum Splash (my old faves). For the life of me, I don't know what I thought I was tasting before. It was dreadful, not the "wonderful" taste of cloves my addicted brain told me I was missing. I could actually taste the chemicals that I was never able to taste before. Haven't touched one since... and won't. I don't know what all they put in analogs, but there are things more addicting than nicotine in there.

Wow that's awesome! I'm still trying to get to that point.

I think the most successful quitters are those who put down all but the last few and then quit completely at a later date. Some people are able to quit cold turkey, but I had to have my coffee cigs and one after a meal once I started vaping. Eventually, I put down those last few and found that it was was too easy. I could have done it many months ago and didn't know it.

We hang on the the last few thinking that we really need them. That's a lie that tobacco whispers in our ears as we smoke them.

Congrats, Nancy! You have arrived! And yeah, I think a lot of us have had to learn that lesson the hard way. Cigarettes are naaaaasty!

Keep up the good work!

...and you're not only doing a good thing for your health, but for your sister's too - think of all that second-hand smoke she won't be inhaling now when you're around! :p

hmmm....if she's OK with abstaining from smoking/vaping, that's great and I don't wanna play devil's advocate, but if not, are you sure she can't vape? I thought I knew some vapers with COPD and asthma who were doing OK...

She had tried, and I am not saying the vaping caused her to wind up in the hospital as I know better, but it was just that final factor that brought everything else together. In talking to her today she does want to try it again, but as she's been down with a cold I do want her to wait til she's past it. Also I know a lot thanks to this site I was clueless about back then, so that may help,
