great, another piece of equipment to make things easier and you cant buy it- so how many mm is the post you are winding the coil around if someone were to make one? I know you can use different sizes but what is the size you used in the video? and 27 guage kanthal A-1?

That post is called music wire. Its right between 17 ga and 18 ga. Diameter. A 1/16" diameter music wire post also came with it and would also work great. Yep, 27 ga Kanthal A1. :)

SXD, where are you getting your 27 gauge? Would really love to get some, as I like my .8 ohms with a good bit of wire in there, but 26 gauge is just too much.

Thanks!

Oh man really great video. I am still building my micros with 28g, I'll try 27 next time I make an order. I need to get a reo, the RM2 seems like a great atty. Also, that jig is sick. Thanks for taking the time to make the tutorial.

Any time bro :).

EDIT: meant to quote peterforpat's comment on the first page about another gizmo he cant build or afford.....

There are other devices out there that are really cheap and easy to make

Wizmo of the day, for making 1/16 dia. coils

That said, I like the fact that darkzero's tool takes different sized mandrels that can be changed using the set screw.

but I think it would be tough to wind flat "ribbon" I prefer turning the tool and not the wire for making flat coils.
