Twist or ProVari

What is? I'm honestly just curious. I want one, mainly because I like getting new gadgets, but I want to know why I should actually want one lol.
I am planning on getting a rebuildable atty soon too. Building wicks seems like something I could handle, and I'm the type of person who likes that sort of control.
i'd go for the twist. i don't need an expensive device. but if you have dough to burn, hey why not? 
I found the vape to be significantly different, somewhat to my surprise. For my personal combination of juice and carto, the Twist came up woefully short. Hence the sale of them less than two weeks after purchase.
To be specific, I kept having to constantly adjust the voltage (which I never do with the ProVari), and even then was simply topping out the amp limit. It's important to note though, that I vape 1.6ohm cartos at 4.2volts.
But everyone is different - this is just me. I've seen others say the vape is close to the same (which is why I purchased them in the first place).
If you're not pushing as many amps as I am, the Twist is likely a wonderful device. At least based on reviews I've seen here (ECF).
Again, there are other ways to check. I get that it is a nice feature, I use it.
For me, quality. It's reliable, not disposable. It's pretty. There is a thread full of butterfingers bragging about how many times they have dropped them...I have read it and am amazed at the durability.
Something my Grandfather told me about tools as a kid comes to mind here;
"Buy cheap, buy twice."
I'm in no way a Provari fanboy, as I don't even have one yet. But from reading the thread that thinkingabout it is referring to, and other stories around the web, it appears to be incredibly durable for an electronic (not mechanical in other words) device. And as mentioned, I think they look great too.

One problem. Your grandfather never tried a ProVari. The problem I speak of is that many of us get spoiled, once we try it, and end up buying a 2nd. Or, in some cases (where maybe the wife also vapes), a THIRD
Because a backup is essential. HOWEVER, what DOES change is that we stop buying $50-$90 devices every month. So it still comes out to be a savings, in the long term. At least it has for me. For others, I cannot speak.

The Ego Vape is different. The Ego uses PWM without a good filter. The filter is a capacitor that fills in spikes in voltage and makes for a very smooth Vape. The way to tell is that Smoktek dot com sells a Digital Voltage Tester that fits between the Carto/Clearo and the unit. If the tester can read the voltage than you have a good filter or it's not PWM, if it can't than the voltage is spiking and you aren't getting a clean vape. Some prefer the unfiltered PWM because it hits higher than the voltage that it's showing.
The Provari is rock solid precise in the vaping experience. You can check your Cartomizer/Clearomizer and find exactly how many Ohm it actually is running at and compensate by raising or lowering your voltage. The only possibly superior solution would be a Darwin in which you program the Watts and it detects the Ohms of the Cartomizer and adjusts the voltage for you. Me I like a little more manual decision making. In terms of reliability there is nothing that surpasses the Provari. Many units are basically expensive throw aways that will last 1 week to 6 months, the Provari has a 1 year warranty and you can purchase a 2 year warranty for extra.
On the other end if you are looking for a rock solid vape and don't want to pay the big bucks for the Provari, you should check into the Smoktek Smokbox Varicool 3 Amp Version. It won't have the longetivity of the Provari but it's a whole lot less . It lacks the bells and whistles but it vapes like a champion.

Yes he was, and I'd give anything for one more day of hanging out in the shop with him, and all the things I took for granted back then. I'm not sure what he would have thought about vaping in general, he was a hard core smoker though, Pall Mall filterless for year and years. I'm sure he would have appreciated the workmanship on some of the devices out there either way though. Thanks to some of the folks here at ECF, I think my last few purchases are going to hold me over for years to come, without having to buy anything but juice.

When i was searching for a new mod I looked at the provari and turned away. Got the lavatube and the end got a provari. I wished i bought the provari first. I have tried the twist and it is really neat. In the end i'd buy the provari ;p.
It's not really a disposable like the little ones. A fella on another thread got over a year on his, and I have gotten more. Not a waste of money considering $15 a year.
Many people with big mods turn the voltage down to the level of the Kgo anyway. They sell tons of ego each year.
4.2volts at 1.6ohms, you're rocking out at 11 watts, how is that even possible? That is hotter than haitis.
I'm eventually going to get a Provari someday, but in the meantime I will be getting a lava tube knock-off at cost. Not going to pass that up.
Idunno. It doesn't FEEL that way. My wife's not too far off either (4.0v). It feels, well - perfect, actually. It's what I need, I guess. I have ZERO urge to pick up a ...., if that matters.
Well I actually pulled the trigger and got the satin black provari with charger and 2 batteries with red led.
