Hi i was wondering does the twist salt brand of e liquid (Honey Dew Melon Chew) contain the chemical the cause " Popcorn lung". I quit smoking cigarettes and switched to vaping and im trying to do the healthiest alternative possible. Thanks in advance.
I'm going to say probably not. The "popcorn lung" chemical is known as acetyl propionyl or diacetyl. It's used to be used quite a bit for flavors that had a rich cream or buttery base.
I doubt it would be added to a fruit chew type flavor. If it did, it would be trace amounts. In reality, I never heard of anyone developing popcorn lung from vaping and there's more diacetyl in cigarettes anyway.
I think I'd have a much higher chance of getting popcorn lung in a popcorn bag factory, where the ailment originates, than vaping any modern juices (freebase or salts). No need to worry.
I wouldn't think you are at a great deal of risk. I suppose you could contact the manufacturer to find out if you are really worried.
I worried about a lot of dumb stuff when I was first vaping, 99% of which were pretty unfounded. I wish I had worried less. Now, I just worry about dropping my favorite vapes
