I'm new to this forum so I have to post here. Was just wondering what everyone's experience with twisted kanthal had been. Pics are welcome.

Just finished a twisted 24g, .29 build for my kayfun and it has some of the best flavor out of all the coils I've used thus far. Forgot to take pics, but this beast is a fair representative of what I did, just cut in half.

Btw, I am not running this coil on my hana. Sony vtc5 in a mech.

The insulators in the kayfuns aren't designed to deal with that kind of heat. Nor can a kaufun wick efficiently enough to feed a build like that. But, to each their own. If you like it, bop til ya drop. I twist .30ga from time to time. Mainly because I have a bunch of it and don't really want to throw it away. I twist 3 strands together and build a 1 ohm micro coil for a Veritas. 25w on a dna30 and it works great!
I prefer my kayfuns at 1.2 ohms with .28ga. I've gotten fancy with kayfuns but the standard builds out perform the "cool" stuff with a kayfun. I build the low ohm stuff in devices designed for it.

I'm not really sure what to say other than the picture does not look like a Kayfun deck.

I know what you are saying about the insulators. To be honest, I take small drags with the amount of vapor this build gives me. Anything longer than two seconds is just way too much. It wicks perfectly fine. I did chain vape it to test and I got zero dry hits.

Dchemist, the picture was to show what the twisted coil looked like. I forgot to take a pic of my actual kayfun build. I am running twisted duals on my dripper as well.

Silly question ....but what are you actually gaining by building a .3 coil and pulling it that far away from the airhole? Why not go for .7 or .8 and drop it right over the airhole? That would give you over twice the surface area which equals better flavor and vapor. I know, .29 sounds cooler than .8, but isn't performance more important?
