Well now, somebody got a biiig check in the mail!

"U.S. regulators are hitting the brakes on plans to force tobacco companies to drastically reduce addictive nicotine in cigarettes, retreating on an ambitious public-health initiative that comes amid increasing worry about nicotine use among young people."

Good riddance. Existing nicotine levels are best. When smokers feel that they've had enough nicotine, that's when they ease up on smoking. Why set a maximum nicotine level anyhow, unless you're acting in bad faith, to circumvent the restriction against outlawing tobacco outright. I think that corrupt cronies were hoping to reap a windfall when FDA banned everything except their worthless and unwanted product, namely low-nicotine cigarettes.
