Hey all,
I was disappointed when i got my UD UDT-V10 mod and found the firing button to be real strange to press. You almost have to push right in the center to get it to fire reliably. Easy fix, after fixing my GGTS clone hot button with the shim mod, i decided to give er a try on the UDT-V10.
Take your button apart, its real easy, just unscrew the contact screw, then unscrew the button from the battery tube. Don't lose your spring. Now take your brass shim, i think i used .07 or .7, whatever it is... the real thin stuff. The GGTS used a .05 shim, so this is a little thicker, you want it perfect but not too tight. Anyway, measure that brass contact screw from the bottom of the fatter screw part until the THREADS ONLY! This is how long you want it. The shim should NOT cover any threads, and come all the way to the top of the screw. Only cut enough to do one lap, WITH NO OVERLAP or you will have too much.
Put your switch back together and your button will have ZERO rattle and the action will be exponentially smoother. Push anywhere for easy firing. Also, I swear due to the increased contact at this site, i am getting much less voltage drop!
Enjoy your new mod!
