I am so sick of 3-4 week steep times. I have been reading about the Ultrasonic Cleaners. I went to Harbor Freight and looked at there $80 one and it was plastic and looked kind of cheap (typical for harbor freight)

so I just ordered this one... ebay item 31089511904

Also when testing new DIY concentrates I use 8ml glass vials and only use 2ml total to test new concentrates (saves on waste.)

On this unit the tank Size is: 6 x 5.7 x 4 inch

Here are a few of my questions..

1.) Is this a good ultrasonic cleaner?
2.) With the bottles only having 3/4 of an inch of liquid at the bottom of the 8ml bottle how far do I fill the tank?
3.) How many cycles do I do?
4.) How much heat should this be set at?
5.) will the bottles float and fall over?

Also, let me have your thought on this item for shaking the bottles
ebay item 221528694533

are you doing DIY juices? ultra sonic helps in aging a juice but not as rapid as once thought...

its ok..
fill tank to same level of juice in bottle
about 4 hours worth, repeat 3-4 times
130-140F
yes... get a small wire mesh basket to hold bottles upright or use a rubber band to hold several bottles as a group

I used the ultra sonic cleaner years ago to clean coils when they weren't easily rebuildable. Steeping is a mix of aging and mixing. The ultrasonic cleaner will not age the liquid. It will mix I but here's what I do with perfect results for over 3 years. Turn the tap on hot. When the water comes out as hot as possible full a cup just enough so the bottle will fit without water going past the bottom I the cap. Put the bottle in the hot/warm water and wait a minute or two. By then the liquid will be much thinner and doing so will mix better with simply shaking it. ;)

Actually, it will age. Aging is about slow going chemical reactions. Ultra sound speed ups these reactions. So, yes, ultrasonic cleaner will speed up aging.

Your only half right. The sonic vibrations won't do much more than warm water and shake. If you want quicker aging let some oxegen in. Ultra sonic cleaner can't do that. ;)

Mixing for 4 years teaches you a lot and sometimes what appears to be obvious is actually askew.

Your quote is broken. :p

Please, do not speak of thing you have no idea about. Please, try to read:

EDIT: I have typed too fast. I was a bit rude. My apologies.

That's quite alright. I know of what I speak and didn't come here for you to try and embarrass me. My experience is more hands on and reaches much farther than one would think. Don't reply or quote me anymore unless your going to be civilized. ;)

Ultrasonic cleaners can work but not as we'll as one would think. Unless maybe you spring $1,000 for a real one.
That is all.

When you just need to get from point A to point B car for $10,000 will work the same as car for $500,000. The same with ultrasound cleaners.

That's so not true! Some ultra sonic cleaners have very weak vibrations. Some vibrate faster* than others. Just like everything there's good and bad. In this case my hand can steep a bottle better than my $50 ultrasonic. I packed it up 2 years ago. I don't even bother steeping now that I make 120ml bottles at a time. By the time I'm done the next one is already steeped and I make another to sit while I vape that one.

Your point A to point B theory is missing one thing. How fast you get there matters. ;)

By all means go ahead and use one but I assure you the difference will NOT be noticeable.

THANK YOU ALL for the wonderful feedback. I'm starting to think the ultrasonic cleaner was not the smart choice for me "personally" (thank god I have lots of jewelry) I say this based on the many responses, post, and other reading on the issue of "Steeping"..

It seems there are 3 important factors in the process..

1.) shaking and/or mixing
2.) air/oxygen
3.) heat (in levels)

So for me I have to think the "dental mixer" and a few worm bath's is going to out preform the ultrasonic cleaner Why do I say this?

The dental mixer can run much faster (for the shaking/mixing) don't let the name ultrasonic mislead you to think you have a space aged unit that's a super mixer.. I have seen the videos on both units. The dental mixer will mix the juice more and at faster speeds (based on what I have seen in the videos) A warm bath is a warm bath..

So, I am going to buy a dental mixer today (my ultrasonic cleaner) will be here on Tuesday. I will do a apples to apples test on both units and post the results.
