We got hit with the remnants of a really bad hurricane when I was younger (geeze maybe 8-10 years ago, I don't exactly remember, but literally everything around here flooded. There was so baseball or football fields for a few years. Luckily, I live on the edge of a 300 foot valley, so it all drained down.
I know, every place has to deal with their own crazy forms of mother nature. We get so used to them it becomes second nature to us. And I know that most places in the south are not prepared for the snow. I heard a few years ago Dallas got caught with a crazy snowstorm and they only had 1 snow plow... My little township has like 100 of them. But nobody around here has a storm cellar, just a regular cellar, that all constantly fill with water. Thank goodness for sub-pumps and dehumidifiers.
