I never understood why people buy milk before a storm. Unless you have a baby a perishable refrigerated item is probably a bad idea when the power might go it.

I can see my hubby do this. He drinks about half gallon a day or more if he doesn't have stuff outside to do. Him and my sons were always big milk drinkers and I used to go through 2 gal a day. It is funny though and perhaps they want it for cooking. Biscuits, gravy, cornbread and the like..... Pudding.

I have no idea what a tow motor guy is. It sounds like somebody might end up in the trunk of a Ford Tempo in Billy-Bob's salvage yard.

LOL I don't know what a tow motor guy is either I just assumed it was a wrecker truck guy. :D

Because with milk and bread you can have cereal and sandwiches when you can't or don't want to cook each meal. And as long as it is cold milk can be kept outside in a cooler.

The summer that we moved here from AK, that derechio (sp) came through and we were without power for 11 days. It was 4 days until enough debris was cleared that I could get off the hill and go to town altho no reason to go to town as they didn't have power either. It was 90+F daily through all that and the landline phones actually went before the cell phones.... Frontier says because someone stole their generator... so the following weekend went out and bought a whole house generator. Lost a whole beef and half a hog in the freezer and not sure which was worse... the cost or the smell when I had to deal with it.

Was Bon Jovi even alive in 72 or 73? Jackson Browne's version from his solo and acoustic album is my favorite non-Allman version.

Bon Jovi did his version of it but he was born 1962. I believe JB wrote this as a youngster himself in the mid to late 60s. It's a great song. No wonder so many good covers exist.

    Morning all!

    Hahaha ... good point!

When I read those lyrics you posted, I recalled them from the Jackson Browne version so I did a quick db check to verify he wrote the song and not the other way around ... it listed Jon as a co-writer (as well as others) but what I think happened is that it listed anyone who had written a song with that same title. Jon is talented but you're right, I don't think he was collaborating with JB on songwriting @ age 11!

Hey, the hour was late and I had spent quite some time comparing the varying nuances of several fine bourbons ... :D
