Our ice apocalypse turned out to be nothing. It has stopped raining and the temperature hasn't dropped as low as they thought. So, I lost 10 hours of vacation time because my kid's school closed for no reason.

Better safe than sorry though, everyone gets mad when they don't close in dangerous conditions. I'd rather have them home and safe if need be, than stuck at school or on a wrecked school bus because the temp dropped too rapidly and everything turned to ice
I might feel different once mine are in school. Our district has had 2.5 weeks if snow days this year. Seems they're off more than they go in lately.

My issue is they originally wanted to close at 2pm. It started raining at 9am. So, they contacted everybody and said, we're closing at 10am. I really needed to save those extra four hours. I've burnt a ton of time because of school delays and cancellations. I'll probably have to skip the family vacation at this rate.
I think here the kids have only gone to school about 10 days since Christmas break and I know the one day they ran on a 2 hr delay and took the kids in long enough to take roll and then loaded them up and took them home.
I've got a grandson whose parents are probably going to end up in jail over his refusal to go to school. He's a spoiled rotten little 14 year old brat who thinks the rules of the world don't apply to him and has missed 5 days since Christmas break on top of all the snow day closures. It's a real problem and the sad part is, up until this year, he was an "A" student. Smart, beautiful kid but doesn't know how to live in the real world with the rest of us.

I think that if you miss the early week postal influx/rush Kearney might be okay. I've noticed that most people reporting quick turn arounds order on Wednesday or Thursday.
That's terrible angel. Now how do I prevent that??? My son went from this sweet dreamy huggable lovable child and when he turned 3 almost exactly to the day he grew horns and lungs for screaming at me and I don't like him much anymore *don't read that wrong I love him. I just really don't like him*

i skipped school like crazy when i was a young lad. what made it worse was that my mother was a very high ranking official in the State Education System.
My only saving grace was that i could skip school, never study, and sleep walk through any tests and still score an 'A'. justified my position that the school system wasn't for me.
then came college, and college gurls.....i stayed for that.
not sure why i enlisted tho, must have been an alcohol induced dare.

the Triton is taking awesome, mixing in some moar awesome, topping with bacon, then deep frying in a big ol vat of awsum.
it's a great system.
and now i want bacon.
Well, I can report to you right away!! I love my both my Triton 400's and 650 but love all 3 of my Triton VVs better.

It might be time for somebody to sit down and have a real talk about why he doesn't want to go. People would have said the same thing about me. The truth was that I was socially awkward because we moved a lot until I was about eight. So, I didn't get a lot of time to make friends. It didn't help that I spent a lot of that time being the only kid in my neighborhood or that my half-brother was gone more than he was ever home.
Add in the fact that my parents always had a rocky relationship, my dad battled injuries and PTSD (unheard of at the time) for years, and a number of other issues. I really didn't get it all back then. I just knew that I always felt stressed out and school made it worse. The only time I wasn't stressed out was when I was in my bedroom listening to music and reading magazines or books. That lead to a lot of acting out and skipping school was part of it. It was something I could control and gave me a chance to explore the world on my terms without all the stress and anxiety.
Before you write him off somebody needs to talk to him. I didn't have that and it took me a long time to get my act together. I ended up graduating college and doing all right.
