Please don't do that with orders to Germany - the German partner of EMS has a nasty habit of giving everything to customs to be inspected and then demands money from you to handle the customs issue. Not quite legal, but always a hassle. (And many people actually pay because they don't know how to avoid it. And customs inspections aren't exactly fast, either, here.)

Yes. we hear that EMS do not work well on Germany. How about DHL on Germany? did you get any orders via DHL

we are thinking of providing a much faster shipping method: DHL for all countries, which cost a bit more expensive than EMS, but has a much shorter shipping time.

I appreciate your input. :)

DHL probably works, it's the old mail monopoly, still by far the biggest parcel service. I've never heard they make that kind of problems.

However, another matter is that many people in Germany make orders up to 22 Euros, because those are import tax free. Above that, if the order gets inspected, you pay an additional 19%. Which means in turn that you don't want to pay for very expensive shipping, because, well, shipping shouldn't be more expensive that the products you order ;)

A DHL option would be nice, for sure, but many would stop ordering if plain, cheap China Airmail were not available any more. In fact, before Heath Cabin did start offering Airmail, very few people I heard of ordered from there because it was just far too expensive to have it shipped. (And it's still lagging behind "the competition" because many old hands are used to order from elsewhere and of course recommend to others ordering from there - via Airmail.) Those that did order with EMS were either prepared to pay the 19% or they hoped there would be no custom inspections. It's not a risk many take. I know I don't. And I'd really mind if I couldn't get at my DripTips and flavours any more :O

Thank you for your information.

so orders via DHL won't have a customs problem there if we declare not more than 22 Euro on the DHL label?

Yes. DHL is much more expensive than airmail, also a bit expensive than EMS, partically for small orders. However when orders are big, DHL shipping rate is rather reasonsable considering their speed and reliablity.

we will consider adding DHL option to our site if DHL can deliver ejuice with no problem.

Customs officers are not dumb, and many by now have at least a vague idea what PVs cost. They also have internet access, so simply declaring less than 22 Euros might attract notice - and BIG trouble. Besides, if they check, the reviecer has do give them an invoice and proof of payment. A printout from Paypal is sufficient, but I'd have to change that myself, just as I would have to change the invoice – not exactly legal, and very easy to catch. Therefore that is something I am just not going to risk; officials have no sense of humour whatever when it comes to tricks like that.
Customs also tend to ignore labels like "small value" or "gift". They pick out mailings to be inspected absolutely randomly.

DHL will also have problems delivering liquid to Germany, the current official line is "no nicotine whatsoever" (that does even include filled carts in sets), and if there is any inside a parcel, that parcel is sent back - all of it. There are some people doing something about that, as it may actually not be quite legal, but until that is setteled, DHL won't be any more lucky than mail or EMS.

There will be people who appreciate a DHL option, but for most German customers, there is simply no point in it.

Really, You can't blame the company. Anytime you order from China your at the mercy of the Chinese Shipping that's why their prices are so good. Especially at this time of yr. If your going to use China based vendors then sit back and wait but don't badmouth them, it's not their fault.
Haven't you ever heard the expression "on a slow boat from China"?

THE POST OFFICE JOB INTERVIEW

A guy goes to the Post Office to apply for a job.

The interviewer asks him "Are you allergic to anything?"

He says "Yes, just caffeine."

"Have you ever been in the service?" the interviewer asks.

"Yes," he says, "I was in Iraq for two years."

The interviewer says "That will give you 5 extra points toward employment
here.", and then asks, "Are you disabled in any way?"

The guy says, "Yes... an IED exploded near me and
blew my testicles clean off."

The interviewer tells the guy "O.K. In that case, I
can hire you right now. Normal hours are from 8am to 4pm. You can start
tomorrow at 10am, and plan on starting at 10am every day. Don't worry,
we'll still pay you from 8am."

The guy is puzzled and says "If the hours are from
8am to 4pm, why don't you want me to be here before
10am?"

"'This is a government job," the interviewer says. "For the first two
hours we just stand around drinking coffee and scratching our balls.
No point in you coming in for that."

Cee_Jay, I love the fun story. do you have more? Am I greedy? ;)

It makes the mistakes made by USPS understandable now. :)

Some people in Germany won't mind the risk of the 19%, or paying a lot for shipping, but most people will; "offers only EMS" is usually a comment that ends all debates about shops somebody found. DHL might fare slightly better, but not much. Everybody who wants to order from China for the first time gets told in no uncertain terms: Airmail only, and be prepared to wait. (I say the same thing on my website, and so does every forum out there.)

That is of course for private orders - dealers will have a different attitude about it and many will probably appreciate a DHL option. Dealers have to pay those 19% anyway, if not at the customs, then via tax at the end of the year. They'd very likely appreciate not having to discuss EMS "fees" everytime they get a shipment.
