Hey everyone new to vaping, must say so far have found some good reading here.
Been trying my friends DIY mixes last few weeks and finally my order has arrived and im starting to make my own. First run too strong on the NIC way to strong made me a little sick :(

Quick question about the UnFlavored Nicotine e-liquid Base and best way to store it.
I got a 1litre of the 100mg 100%PG and i think its going to last me a life time.
It came in a HDPE bottle and is MFS brand.

Is there any special way i need to store it to make sure if stays good, it came with electrical tape around the lid, I assume to ensure that it doesnt leak in transit?
Does it need to stay in the fridge, dark cupboard or just room temperature 25c

Any information much appreciated in advance

Might've mixed your numbers up for it being too strong :) I've done it before when I do my unflavored e-liquid.
I use this calculator DIY E-Liquid Calculator Ten Flavors Plus PG/VG Adjusting

As far as storing, I put PG and VG in the closet and my nicotine in my little room refrigerator. A lot of people say freezer, but I'm not storing mine in the kitchen.

Aswome dc99 that has really helped, some good ideas there thanks.

dbrandt01, I think I did, I was using a syringe to measure things, i started at 24mg NIC first DIY mix and had a few drinks and played XBOX. The following day I woke up feeling like death, was stuck in bed crook till lunch. I then added another 10ml of 50/50 PG/VG to my premix. I felt better but was still getting head aces.

Quick look at that link I was making a mistake not taking into account the 100PG NIC. So as a result the base I was using of 70PG/30VG would of been alot higher PG content helping to make me crook.

After few hrs more reading today Im going to throw out what i have made and start fresh.
Starting with 40% PG and 60% VG 3mg NIC and work up from there.

You want to break that liter down into smaller Amber glass bottles with polycone caps. I use 60ml bottles but that's up to you. You want to fill each bottle up to almost the top and put the cap on. The less air left in the bottle the better as it will degrade your nic base. Be very careful not to overfill or spill cause as you well know nic can be very dangerous in that concentration. The main reason for separation is that you do not want to be pulling your liter out and thawing it multiple times. Over the months and years it will degrade and begin to turn harsh and peppery tasting not to mention turn a brownish color. Also do not open the bottles until it has reached room temp or it will cause condensation to form on the inside of the bottle which could degrade your nic even further. Oxygen, heat and light are your worst enemy when it comes to long term nic storage. 60ml of nic 100% PG last me about 2 to 3 months mixing at 12mg (Edit: That's only vaping on average 6ml a day) just to give you an idea. There is more to learn here.

I use a big aluminum pan to mix on. You don't want to spill on lets say like a wooden kitchen table for example. It will ruin it. Also you spill some of those flavor concentrates you'll be smelling bananna cream for weeks . So try to mix on something that will contain the spill imo. Just a suggestion. I've never spilled but I've heard the horror stories ;)
