PG allergies do occur (and I'm no expert), but PG is in foods, cosmetics, soft drinks, and hundreds of products we eat, drink, and rub on our skin. It's used in soft drinks to minimize foam. Some people are allergic. The article below goes into detail about PG allergies.

Yeah, Ive read a lot about PG, VG etc, I understand its commercial uses and toxicity status and what ever.
I rubbed PG on my skin while I was testing what was making my face break out in a rash and my sinus's burn :D . I had absolutely no reaction to it whether I rubbed it on my arm or on my face. I even rubbed it on my gums, tongue and digested a bit of it, nothing, not even a mild tingle or numbness.
vaping it, that is a different story, even 10% starts showing quite quickly. I demonstrated it to a friend I was introducing to vaping while we were discussing potential things to watch out for. I had some 80/20 VG/PG unflavoured and vaped on it for a little while while we were talking and sure enough, right on cue my forehead and cheeks went red and spotty. I felt it but he noticed it and he started laughing. I went from smooth natural complexion to spotty and flustered looking with a runny nose like I had come down with a flu in the 20minutes we were talking.
The first signs of PG in a vape juice for me is a kind of tingly numbness down my jaw line and across the cheeks, any facial muscle I guess. If I keep vaping after a while it feels like my forehead is grazed and kind of open wound'y, a bit tender and stingy if I touch it.

I dont care if people say its in food or cosmetics that we might use daily or that PG is used in the treatment of tobacco, I dont even think its unsafe to vape, I just cant vape it without looking like I have some sort of burning/flesh eating skin disease on my face :D
FWIW, the juice I used to quit smoking was 70/30vg/pg and I was using it problem free for three months before I had a massive reaction.

I was un PG sensitive for a long time, it wasn't until I really tried quitting that I found myself with far less options because I was PG sensitive. I can tolerate up to about 10% for flavorings (although there are alcohol based and VG flavorings out there) but it would take a desire and commitment to DIY to figure out what worked. If flavoring is important enough, well, I'd say that you could look into it. I use PEG400 which I don't have a reaction to and it's also a pretty decent flavor carrier with no harsh throat hit.

Not that there is anything at all wrong with unflavored, and if I had to, I would probably vape it but thankfully I do NOT have to.

If you are still vaping nic, well I've sort of found via snus that if I'm getting my chemical soup of happiness, so to speak, well, I tend to adapt to the flavor. I was not smoking tobacco for the Flavor when I stopped, let me put it that way. So probably after awhile the pleasant soup of unflavored and nic will become "preferred" by the brain, and that's how things work (for me, anyway). Best of luck with whatever you decide, and I hope it works out well for you.

Unflavored for the win.

I have vaped it almost exclusively for at least the four or more years. Every once in a while, I'll try a flavored juice and am disappointed pretty quickly. Back on unflavored. These days, when I sample something flavored, I limit using it to a Wasp Nano that I never vape my 'good' unflavored juice in. Hard to get the taste of some juices out of a tank, and I have never put anything but unflavored into a squonk bottle.

Recently, a friend here introduced me to menthol crystals, had never tried them. Right now, I'm vaping unflavored juice with 0.25% menthol in it. That's plenty of flavor for me. I don't even see the menthol use as a daily long-term thing. Just something to change things up here and there. My present bottle with menthol will probably be gone tomorrow. I will use it again periodically, but already have some unflavored ready to go. I will keep menthol around though as an occasional option.

It amazed me when I still vaped using pre-built coils, that I could get 4-6 weeks out of a factory coil head (about 480ml of juice) when using unflavored. Even though I'm building all my own stuff these days, it's still nice not having to rewick all the time due to things gunking up.

Anyways, I don't ever see my self vaping anything but unflavored, at least as my ADV. Might switch it up here and there with a ridiculously low % of menthol, but I will always find my way back to unflavored.

I'm glad you folks enjoy your flavors, life is simple and good for me without. :)

Two friends of mine trying to quit smoking, had gotten frustrated with vaping, primarily because of flavors believe it or not. Either having to pay a ridiculous amount of $$$ for a juice they liked, wasting money trying to find one they liked, etc. I gave each of them a 240ml bottle of unflavored 6mg juice about two weeks ago, and they are vaping again.

If you're a coconut lover try the flavoring "Wonder Flavors Coconut Custard SC" all it takes is 3% and it's a potent flavor, not really a custard in my eyes more of a creamy coconut with a hint of custard.

When I started vaping, the second time, I vaped unflavored with 24 mg/ml nic. I vaped unflavored for the first couple months and then started adding flavors. Recently, I have gotten tired of flavors and again returned to vaping unflavored. I have to agree with some of the others, it is nice to go more than one day without having rewick my Kayfuns.

I've been vaping unflavored for about 5 years now. After what is referred to in my house as "the great tobacco hunt of 2012", I found that unflavored actually tasted like what I vaguely remember smoking to taste like. I can't tolerate flavors for very long and I always have to mix them with some unflavored to "water down" the flavor.

When I started DIY I was using recipes that had over 20% flavoring. I use 10% or less now, 5% for a couple. I didn't make a conscious decision to reduce it, it just happened. Used to have complicated recipes as well, Now I only use 2 or 3 flavors. I've heard quite a few people describe that same experience. When I've used shop bought juice lately it seemed grossly overflavored.

I tried unflavored a few times. It wasn't very satisfying, like there was something missing. Haven't done that for a while, think I'll give it another shot.

I vape unflavored often just to reset my palate. When I mix new tobacco flavors I mix at lower ranges in the average at first and only add more flavor after steeping until I find the sweet spot. I've been caught enough times by mixing at high average recommended percentage and ending up with two bottles of that flavor after cutting with unflavored.

It's all good, though. Sometimes, that extra bottle of juice comes in handy if it turns out to be vapable!

Unflavored here - 25PG 75VG works for me. Tried it when bad stomach issues arose after 4.5 years of expensive flavors - definitely made a BIG difference. Not a DIYer and only ProVari user, with simple, easy tank and coils. Friends no longer complain of bad smell and great for stealth use.

If you don't DIY, where do you guys buy yours from - just curious

Yep, if you want 3mg 50/50, you can get a gallon of it for around $34.99. That's a LOT of juice, lol.

If you want various strengths (1,2,3,6,12,18, 24mg), and want a lot of PG/VG ratio choices, Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers is a good place too. You can buy lots of sizes, the prices seem pretty fair for the liter sizes. Gallons too, but they are more expensive than Nic River for unflavored ready to use. Only problem with Nic River is they don't offer the flexibility that LNW does if your intent is to buy ready to vape unflavored juice in bulk.

If I weren't into DIY for my unflavored, I would probably source it from LNW and buy the larger sizes to save. There may be cheaper places out there, never really shopped around for unflavored specifically.

Lots of comments on LNW site from folks buying it to vape as is.

Hey Terry (we meet again) - I didn't find any ready to vape unflavored juice, low PG higher VG on nicotine river. Would I have to mix my own nicotine, PG and VG? Hope not, seems like more work than I like

Hi score69 - just checked out the LNW site and have the same comments/questions as for nicotine river. I didn't find any ready to vape unflavored juice, low PG higher VG on nicotine river. Would I have to mix my own nicotine, PG and VG?

Hover over the little tab on the LNW page that says nicotine, they have 1,2,3,6,12,18,24mg and up that you can pick the pg/vg ratio you want.If you use a mg they have listed, then get it in the pg/vg ratio you want and it's ready to vape. They have from 100% pg,90pg,etc.,then they also have 100vg,90vg,etc.
