Hey all... So after quite a bit of research, looking for a way to get more vape/flavor/throat hit (currently using an eGo with a LR 1.5 atty & drip-tip) I decided that I needed to go up in voltage... Without wanting to spend $150 on a new PV, plus S&H, plus wait 3-4 weeks (canadian), I decided to give the eGo Booster a try. It had good reviews, it looked like it was exactly what I needed, and the price was right.

I got it today, spent a couple hours playing with it, and gotta say am not impressed. If I was to compare what I'm getting now, using both a LR atty as well as a stock SR atty, to what I had previously, I can barely tell a difference, besides maybe a little more flavor... But not any more throat hit, nor any more vapor production than before. Everyone seems to say that they are noticing big differences that make this product worth the purchase, but I just don't see it. I've tried different attys and battery combos (in case it was old/damaged), but still get the same results. I know the product works because I do see the variance in vape when adjusting the dial, and a SR atty works better with the Booster, but no different than without it on a LR atty.

I feel like I've wasted my money. I just want something GOOD. I'm starting to think I should just suck it up, forget that I've spent around $400 on random ego parts in the past 6 months, and just spend another $150-$200 on something really nice. Is there something I should be aware of or that I'm overlooking?!

Thanks.

How about a Little Man VV from JamesW here on the forum for $80? I'm very happy with mine.

Thanks for writing this Lyrikal. I have been recently looking at the same thing. I was considering it as well but very tight money wise at the moment. I also really like my e-Go and just want to make it better. It seems that since my lungs have improved they want "more". Mods confuse the holy hell out of me right now. I really want to save some money and just get a provari but it's gona be a while. I guess I'll be vaping more menthol when I want that stronger "hit".

I am glad you posted this. I have been thinking about getting the booster but have heard too many complaints. I have built several box mods, puck VV and puck SD, but when I pull them out in public I get the feeling someone is about to call the cops on the mad bomber detonator in my hand. I am saving my pennys now to get an Infinity Pro , little sister of the Buzz Pro. I chose this model because it is variable voltage and once you go VV you never go back and I can not find anyone who does not love their buzz. A pv with this many satisfied owners has to be good. At $99.00 it is a good price too. Take a look at it at Notcigs. Then check the board for negative comments. I could not find any.

A CE2 performs much better on an ego booster with the coil at the top. Nothing else I used on the booster felt like it was much of an improvement but the CE2s were a world of difference.

A LR atomiser wont feel much different. It's something like only the first 25% of the dial will be in use when it's a LR atomiser because it'll be drawing the max wattage then or something.

Yeah, I've definitely had my eye on a few other products out there. On the higher end, likely more than I'm willing to spent right now, is the Darwin an the Provari.... However $99 for the Infinity, which is VV, is not a bad price.

Just to clear things up though, isn't the $99 price tag just for the casing? I'm not sure if "casing" is the right word, but that price doesn't include batteries, chargers, attys/cartos, e-liquid, anything really. So when I DO buy everything I need, plus S&H, aren't I closer to about the $150 mark?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the CE2 a cartomizer? How can a carto possibly be any better than a drip-tip on a bridgeless atty?

That is correct $99 just buys the unit. $20 more for 4 batteries (uses 2 at a time) and a charger. Get a couple of Vision extreme cartos from got vapes for $10. Plus whatever liquid you use now.

I find the Ego Booster to make a noticeable difference. Sounds like you may have a defective one, have you metered it? If its the output voltage is not changing when you change the dial, contact Artisan immediately. There has been some construction issues it seems. Mike just got a replacement and it fell apart. My first one's dial fell out but my replacement has been fine.

First off, stop falling for all the "hype" about a new product coming to market. It's worth waiting and then reading the reviews before buying anything. I suggest getting a variable voltage mod. It gives you the ability to fine tune your juices to your desired level. No need to buy LR anymore. With VV, use regular resistance atty's or carto's. I recommend the BuzzPro from notcigs.com. It's smaller than you think.

Wait, is the OP using LR attys? If so then that is the problem.

I find that LR is useless on all variable devices. On the EB I can't really tell the difference with it and without it on LR heating elements (attys or cartos).

I've tried LR, SR and even HV for the hell of it, which was useless. I've decided to stick to a LR dual coil atty with drip tip, might try the same in a carto version of this.

I appreciate you posting, information needs to be shared, but why not also send Artisan an email? I am pretty sure yours is defective. Have you metered it? Seriously, the service at Artisan is top notch. If you got it from Jack at Happyvaper, same holds, service is top notch. Give them a chance to fix the problem.

I don't have a meter to test it, however I do notice that it vapes more when cranked up and less when lowered... I also noticed that it vapes more like a LR atty using the SR that came with my eGo, compared to not using the Booster with the SR arry, but at the end of the day, if it vapes the same as a LR without the Booster, what's the point?

Regarding Jack, I emailed and called him 2 days ago, and heard nothing back... :/
