This proposed tax was brought to you courtesy of Altria and RJ Reynolds. *sigh*

CASAA: Call to Action: Michigan Legislators are Considering an Excise Tax on E-Cigarettes

If you live in Michigan, you need to act now to let your legislators know that you oppose any tax on e-cigarettes above and beyond a general sales tax. We've made it as easy as possible by issuing a CQ Roll Call campaign to allow you to send an email to your elected officials. The email is FULLY EDITABLE by you, and we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you (which sounds much nicer than "beg") to personalize your letter by sharing your story.

We've also asked Michigan folks to CALL members of the Senate Finance Committee to express opposition. Names and phone numbers for members of the committee are included in the blog.

A few minutes of your time can make a huge difference.

CASAA has updated the Michigan Call to Action. SB 1018 has been set for a hearing before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 12:30 pm, Room 210, Farnum Building, 125 W. Allegan Street, Lansing, MI 48933 (Scott Jones, Committee Clerk, 373-5307).

Michigan vapers and harm reduction advocates are strongly encouraged to attend the committee hearing to offer testimony in opposition to SB 1018. (As a sign of respect, we ask you to please refrain from vaping in the committee room.)

If you haven't already, please participate in the Michigan Call to Action linked below.
