Upgrade from a Vamo V5?

Been looking around at various youtube videos and whatnot, but the market is literally flooded with products i have no idea what is good and safe (mech mods).
Ive just ordered a Fogger v4.1 to go on my Vamo, but its the only vape mod i own. I would like another if not just for backup.
Im personally not a huge fan of the box mods but they seem to be very well rated.
There are some awesome looking mech mods out there but the fact that they might blow my hand off is slightly worrying and as im new to rba short circuits etc may be a possibility.
So, can anyone recommend me a nice looking mod with plenty of power that i can order from the UK?
Thanks alot

I know for me personally I thought box mods were kind of goofy and dumb looking but now that I own a few I really enjoy using them. I started with an MVP V2 as my first box mod and now ive progressed to a Cana Mod V3 (newest without bugs) and I have an IPV 50watt on the way. They are much shorter in length then the long tube mods and just seem to fit in my hand perfectly. They are also regulated so you get all the safety features needed. I also have a few mechanicals which I love as well but it is important to understand battery safety and proper coil building before you even think about using one. To each his own but the most important thing is to be safe and get off those dang ciggies. Hopefully you find something that you can enjoy for a long time to come!

i recently upgraded from a vamo v5 to a pioneer4you ipv2 50 watt box mod. I LOVE IT.

I wanted to try building coils, going lower than the vamo allows (1.2 i think) and get a better vape.
I bought a fogger 4.4 and a yiloong kaiser (as well as a Patriot RDA)
Both RBA's took some practice to build for a guy who was used to using Kanger 1.5 refills on his mega but now i would never turn back.

There are some great reviews of this new box mod (VV/VW) on this site. Check them out.
For $100.00 you cannot go wrong! Seriously.
Feel free to send me a PM if you need any specific advise. I would be glad to help.

You can always pick up a cheap clone for $10-$30 and try out the mech scene without doing too much damage to your bank account.

Safety is all about the relationship between your battery's rating and the resistance of your build. Just make sure that you have batteries that are capable of safely powering your fogger build and you'll be fine. If you want lots of latitude for experimentation, get a sony vtc4 or vtc5 to power your mech.

I would suggest a well-reviewed stingray clone in stainless steel which is cheap, durable and easy to set up.
If you want a backup mech that's built like a tank, the launcher clone is a telescoping stainless steel mod that is perhaps even easier to set up.

You kind of have to identify the features and materials you want in a mech.
Do you want the switch to be a standard bottom button, recessed or on the side?
Do you want the switch to be magnetic or a standard spring?
Standard tube, tube set or telescoping.
Do you want stainless steel for durability and conveniece or copper or brass for conductivity (and lots of polishing)?
Aesthetics? Build quality?

But at some point you just have to dive in and then from there figure out what features you want.

Hop over to fasttech and read the reviews and forum discussions of the mechs that float your boat.

Yeah, the v1 and v2 look like really cool devices. Does the device itself charge the battery through the usb connection?
