So, I've got an itch to get myself some vape gear. Am not able to spend that much, so what I've honed it down to is either a mech mod clone of some sort (am currently using an mvp2.0) or a kayfun.

What are ECFs thoughts regarding the direction I should upgrade?

Tl;dr
Has MVP2.0 +Igo W want to go next step in vaping

Upgrade to
mech mod clone
or
kayfun.

Hybrids are designed so that the rebuildable atomizer is part of the design.

If you don't have a second power source, I think that would be be next thing to get. While the MVP is a real workhorse, and can be used in "pass thru" mode, there might be times when it's low and you're not near power, or it might fail. Backups are vital to continued success.

Any of the KF styles would be fine. Look for ones that have air flow control and that can use a standard drip tip. Regular or mini? Depends on how much juice you want before refilling...

Keep your builds in the 1.8 - 2.4 Ω range for the MVP, test out different types of build and :vapor:

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
I considered a mechanical and then after reading a lot more about them i decided they were definitely not for me. I like a consistent vape with no loss of vape quality as the battery drains .

I also don't want to deal with buying batteries and a charger , the MVP rocks with a kayfun and just about every other topper i have tried , i like Pro Tanks and the kayfun , both are cake to rebuild and the MVP works great with both.

You need to determine what you mean by upgrade , what are you lacking now ? I was told the Kayfun was a game changer and it is good but to me it's not a game changer.

The MVP is a game changer, decide what your wants are , just because others like to acquire tons of gear doesn't mean you have to go down that route , i have avoided going down that path because it's a never ending money train and i know it's not needed to vape happy.

Not sure if you are really upgrading. The MVP is a solid device. A mech would just change your vape depending on how you will build or buy your coils. It's a change but not necessarily an upgrade.

The beauty of some mechs is that you can use it as a straight power device or throw a kick in and have it regulated. The reason I like my mechs over my MVP and other regulated devices is an adjustable pin. Innokin's positive pins are just horrendous.

I would go with the mech.

It's going to offer you a lot more versatility in the long run, and really improve the performance on your IGO-W. I never liked dual coils on any of my regulated mods... Just never seemed to get enough power. Granted, I only had a Vamo and an MVP but still. 11 watts on dual coil just isn't enough :p Also, I never cared for the Kayfun... (It's alright I guess, way too tight of a draw for someone who's a lung inhaler) Love the Fogger V4 tho, and it's also one I only use on my mechs. (Again, dual coil)

Either that, or grab the tobeco DNA30 clone off e-bay for like $80 and get the best of both worlds :p
