I believe the wood is called Curly Oak. Beautiful. I love ALL my REOs, but the Woodvils are extra special. I always fall back to using the woods in the winter because they don't get as cold as the metal ones. They are just special. Good luck with your sale.

Looking at the grain, it is definitely oak or a very closely related species. That is a beautiful piece of gear. PM coming.
