I have a limited edition of the SX mini M temperature control mod. This has the latest firmware which allows the use of stainless steel wire. I have had it since late September of last year but haven't used it much. It just has tiny scratches on the bottom of the battery cover from sitting on my desk. Has 1 small scratch on the side which isn't noticeable at all. Have included it in the pictures. The paint is not peeling at all. Looks almost new. My battery cover screws on very nice. Works great in SS mode.
