Starting to get scary and real now.

So sad.

:'(

I like that River is removing their nic sales to a different site. Hoping that if the narcs are monitoring that is the one they will be looking at. I got a notice that my most recent order from them is scheduled to be delivered today. As they were putting a priority on orders containing nic and mine has none, I assume they got all orders out in time.

2 vendors today sent emails stating "2 days left to stock up". Ejuicesteals and MVS. I guess not everyone has faith that this new shipping network will actually pull through. :D

Not sure how expensive it’ll be to start up a shipping company, but I was wondering if they could go public and sell shares. I’d risk a few dollars on it.

Stop ruining my thread.
You have your own thread...

Remember your misleading thread?

The one you ended up renaming to Hopium Lives Somewhere Over The Rainbow In The Land Of Unicorns.

Stop polluting this thread with your nonsense.

Sadly, vape mail will have to have a adult signature. I just ordered and madvapes is continuing sales for now but a added 7 dollars for "just a adult signature" is implemented. I am copy/pasting this as a example so you can fathom the situation.

From Madvapes email..
To quickly recap:

At the end of 2020, US Congress passed the Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking (“PACT”) Act. The PACT Act contains a rule classifying vapor products as tobacco products. This will subject e-Liquid, hardware, and other vape products to the same shipping rules as cigarettes and other tobacco products.

One of the biggest changes is starting March 27th, 2021, all deliveries will require an adult signature. As outlined in the USPS website, this will also add an additional fee onto your order.

As stated on the USPS website:

"Adult Signature Required is a service that ensures that the recipient of the mail items is at least 21 years of age or above. The recipient or a resident of the recipient’s address is required to show a form of photo identification to the delivery employee for age confirmation. This ensures that the sender of the mail-piece did not give the item to an underage person.”

Important information regarding the PACT Act

1) Signature Required

Starting March 27th, 2021, an adult signature will be required. USPS & UPS is requiring an adult signature for all deliveries of vape products. This means that you or an adult aged 21+ who lives at your address will need to show a valid photo ID to the mail carrier and sign for the packages. There will be an additional $7 fee on every order because of this new regulation.

If you aren’t home or you think you’ve missed your package, don’t panic! If no adult is home to sign for your package, your USPS carrier will leave a slip on your door with instructions for delivery options including re-delivery and pickup locations.

2) Shipping Costs

Shipping charges will be $14 per package, this includes shipping and adult age verification. We will still offer free shipping on orders of $100 or more. However, shipping costs may increase in the future, depending upon carrier availability in the future. Please continue to check our website our reach out to our guest services team for more information.

3) Price Changes

The price of our products are not changing but, you may have new state taxes and surcharges. These taxes will depend on your shipping address because they are on a state and municipality level, and our system is set up to calculate these taxes for you. If you are unsure of your state’s taxes please reach out to our guest services team and they will help!

4) Packaging Regulations

There will be some new limitations when it comes to packaging your item. You cannot order more than 10lb of product at a time. If you are placing a larger order you can still place multiple orders, they just can’t be over 10lb. This should all be calculated at the time of ordering however, if there are any issues our guest services team will reach out!

If you have further questions or concerns, please reach out to our guest services team at (704) 624-8551! The team is available from 9am–9pm Eastern Monday–Friday.

Thank you for your continued support!

My apologies @ShowMeTwice your posts have always been non-bias. But I feel some posts from others are attacks... either out of disbelief or some type of grudge from a past topic. And I am not rebutting any one person but their "Idea".

Those shipping carriers will not be able to reach many (if not most) US vapers. This puts many vapers in the dark and you, again, spread hopium-filled marketing messages as if they are the end-all, be-all of what is actually happening in the vapopshere. SMH

ok, please share... I promise to behave. FYI: ecigmafia ships out of Flordia.

First interactions with you actually. I'm not a "hater" I don't even know you. Just sounded like you worked for the company the way you're pushing them. Yes a lot of people are shipping right now, and we know that the vape companies plan to establish their own shipping network. Some are even ignoring the rules. These things are known. But you come on like it's breaking news and this one company is going to save us all when they don't even state what their plan is. Their new shipping rates still aren't published. So you have a tiny sliver of information and you're acting like no one has anything to worry about. No one knows that yet. So you're really making a big to do about nothing.

this was actually the most hopeful thing I have seen yet. A program is being worked out to help companies with the tax and reporting issues with the PACT stuff.

couple this with the fact that there are shipping companies trying to work out nationwide delivery (they are NOT there yet particularly if you live in the middle of nowhere like I do) and you get a bit of hope.

UNFORTUNATELY that will go out the window entirely if nothing gets past PMTA.

My fingers are crossed they'll pull something together but it's rational to think that if they do, it won't be like what we have now due to 1) pmta 2) excessive fees and redundant paperwork. The entire distribution chain is fu'd from my understanding - every distributor has to file, register, licence and report to atf in every state they do business in, b2b or b2c. A retailer has to do the same again. It'll be time consuming and expensive, instantly adding to overhead costs. Plus private shipping/freight/signature.

The only way I see where it might work is via consolidation into a FEW distribution centers, maybe 3-5 in the nation, who will be able to limit suppliers and price match - or use tobacco distribution centers who do the same with cigarettes now only vaping industry won't have competition from reservations to keep prices down.

I've talked to a few smoke shops, including reservations several years ago to get them in the vaping game. They believed the press and propaganda pushed their way from tobacco distributors. One warning brochure claimed eliquid was made in bathtubs, counterfeits, yada yada. Insane BS. This was privately produced to deter retailers from selling independent products. This was before EVAIL.

I don't know if you've ever delt with distribution centers but they remind me of legalized mafia. In any industry; produce, grocery, pet supplies, etc. Backdoor deals and greasing palms since they have a monopoly on a region with guaranteed sales. A large supplier can demand a center not carry competition.

Like I said, I hope they can pull it off. My fingers are crossed, but I think it's rational to think it'll be like pulling a rabbit out of a hat when retailers have no way to develop a long term plan on ridiculously cruel short notice. Remember the original prediction was that only apx 27 products would survive this. Pisses me off if they get away with it.

WTH? I’ve been on ecf a long dang time and honestly the person (who shall be unnamed) posting a few up is one of the rudest I’ve ever seen. I hope a mod comes along and sends them packing.

In compliance with ECF forum rules, Please attack the post, not the person. Also please view both sides and fairly evaluate who shows these acts of rudeness or strikes of sarcasm first.

Here are some thoughts I have about where I think things are going. This is all my opinion just from watching what's going on. [I've made a few tweaks to it over the last few hours. Sorry it's so long]

First, most of us who are reading and posting to this thread or "Are you done stocking up?" will have stocked up. I have enough of everything for the rest of my life and extra for family and friends. So, even if everything stopped we will be vaping. Vaping was built by vapors and those of us who quit smoking and vape will continue to do so. I hope ECF will veer back towards hobbyist and helping newbies like the old days.

B&M vapeshops are a coin toss, I think. No ones knows how many products will receive final approval from FDA. If the list of products is small and they have to compete with 7-11 then they will not survive. Companies like Kure have been buying lots of independent vape shops, so they are betting that there is a future in vaping. They will figure out how to do legal distribution. Most of them have a wholesale/retail network already. Tobacco, which also has to follow PACT act rules, makes it into all 50 states - vape products will too. Some of those shops will continue to sell unapproved products under the counter or directly or as "flashlights" or "Solvent". I believe that the FDA will be the ones doing the approved product enforcement and I am skeptical they will be able to do so well.

US based online vapeshops will be in the same boat as B&Ms except they will have to follow PACT act and deal with the expensive tax, paperwork issues and the limitations of interstate shipment. They will also be limited to FDA approved products. For them, the more products approved, the better. If there is money to be made, they will figure out shipping. They already have from what I've read.

Overseas vape suppliers will win. I am certain that many or most will continue to ship into the US. They will not care about whether products have FDA approval or shipping company rules. Packages labelled "Machine parts" or "flashlights" will arrive at US homes. A small percentage will be seized by customs but most will not. They will not do any of the taxes or paperwork of the PACT act so this gives them a competitive advantage in both variety of products and price. The US can't keep illegal drugs out of the US, they will not be able to keep vape products out.

There are lots of losers here. Too many to list. The top of the list are people who want to quit smoking but won't now. But some FDA approved vape product will be at every gas station in the country, So, there is that. This makes Big Tobacco a winner. Their existing distribution network and regulatory experience gives them a huge advantage.
