Did Steve get back to any of the super-concerned people yet??

No and I've pm'd him twice from here and wrote him once from his website. I'm thinking perhaps he's taking the weekend off, and maybe even visiting family and friends for Mother's day.

I kind of wish, because he's just started this and should know there would be lots of questions he'd have kept watch, but well, maybe I'm just asking a little too much here.

I had told him in the PM's and the contact at his website that there were a LOT of questions regarding the batteries, etc. I also asked him for a refund and explained why, but no answer back yet.

I'm hoping some time Monday he'll answer.

Morning Sharon Hope you are feeling abit more at ease
You can go to Paypal and cancel your order, you do not need to contact Steve. I think there is a timeline you have w/ PayPal. It is no big deal,
And I promise you, Steve will get back to you, I know him well and you are good, I wish you could take the day off and just not worry about this.
The Prod was not going to be shipped for 3 to 4 weeks so you were gonna be out that money for weeks anyway, Now, if needed, U can correct it thru PP and buy something else. There are many products that can perform for you and provide many good vapes, that have been on the market longer, so any of the concerns have laready been worked out

Thank you Cosican, you've been the greatest help to me! I went to paypal and can't see anywhere where I can cancel this. Can you tell me how it's done?

Found where you can cancel, but you have to cancel before it's completed and mine is already completed so it looks like Steve has to refund the money.

SharonM, Steve will refund w/o any questions, please do not have any any concerns and as I mentioned, it was not being shipped for many weeks, so you can always hear the reviews and decide at a latter date, if in fact it is for you,
There are so many other alternatives for you that can provide some great vaping.

I agree! I know Steve will and I don't worry about that and I still plan on getting the Prodigy. I still really want one, it'll just have to be after I've read and read and read about them and what other's have experienced and then I'll feel comfortable enough to get one. But get one I plan on doing. Just at a later date.

Cosican, than you Sir!

Yup, just like they all said Steve, you're easy to deal with!! Thanks! And believe me, if you aren't fed up with me, I will be ordering it again.

Order number is: #16351

LOL, this is Joanna, Steve's fiance. :D But he is in the picture of my avatar with me, so I can see how you'd be confused. Will take care of your refund right away!

See Sharon, I told you they would take care of you. No worries!! Everything works out and you can get one later after we all test it out!! Then we'll help guide you to get you the right stuff. Happy Mother's Day and have a great vacation!!

Yes you did and you also did a great job of holding my hand! Thanks Lucky!

This thread moves so fast I can't keep up! My only question - can I use a cart with the 801 or do I have to drip? Someone said the cart would melt, and I haven't a clue, so please help me out! Thanks!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

We don't recommend using cartridges with the prodigy, only because it burns so hot.

***Note - battery-impaired people should completely ignore the following message.*** :D

Note that the RCR123A's are NOT charged in series.
I think these are protected cells, so there shouldn't be a problem with charging them with that charger unless the protection circuit fails.

Does the Prodigy itself have a protection circuit? I'm not exactly sure how the protection circuits on the RCR123A's work, but I would think that if you run them in series, then they might have a problem if it doesn't cut the current draw off until it gets down below 3 volts (which would be 1.5 volt per battery). If they get down that low, I think they'll stop taking a charge.

ninjapuff,
No one said that these batteries were being charged in series. My original post was out of a concern for running pcb protected batteries in series, not charging them. A reply was given to my post that said they can run in series, but not be charged in series. Please read a little further back.

I have been thinking about these batteries and the statements on batteryjunction about using the specific charger for theses 3.0 volt 123s.
I have a passthrough on the way that has an inline battery, supposedly the same battery that is used in E-cigars, and it charges via 5 volt USB. My cell phones also can be charged via USB and are protected batteries. Does my cell phone have a built in voltage regulator or is it using the batteries built in protection circuit? I do not know.

The charger that Steve has listed is what I would consider a trickle charger, as it states that it will take 9.5 hours to charge the; best I can remember was the 18650. I do know that slow charges are always best and safest for batteries.

OK, I have been reading on another forum that is mostly about batteries and flashlights. Seems you can find a forum for just about any topic these days. LOL.
These RCR123s are LiFeP04 AKA Li-POs. They are new in battery design and their materials and characteristics are different from conventional Li-Ions. Thus the reason for the recommended use of a charger that is specific to these batteries.
I did read on this other forum where an OP stated that he had been charging his LiFePo4s with a convential Li-Ion charger and so far has not had any problems, but also stated that he has only gone through about 50 cycles so far. So this dilemma still merits question.

As far as running them in series.
here is a quote from battery junction.

"These fully protected cells simplify usage with their integrated PCB. Perfect for your single cell application these cells are not for pack building as doing so will defeat the PCB protection which is matched to the correct voltage on a single cell. If you are building a pack please choose one of our other cells and the appropriate PCB. Features and Benefits"

This statement was made for the Tenergy 18650s 2600 Mah PCB protected, and not the RCR123 LiFePo4s.

Note: The 18650 batteries Puresmoker is listing are Tenergy 2200 Mah protected.
Since the 18650s will be used as an individual battery, the question about running in series, at least so far is moot, as I have not found any reason or statments so far, why the RCR123s can't be run in series.
