Ah, finished testing. The front two USB ports hit 1.2a apiece, the back upper two get to 1.4, and the lower 4 get just above 500ma apiece. My add-in usb 3.0 controller is just under 1a, but that's with one of my external hdd's running off of it that stays on all the time.
The only place around here that seemed to have 2amp wall plugs had a 4 slot Enercell one that hits 2.2a with no other devices. It works noticeably better than a fresh battery so it looks like my problem's solved. Well, except the damn thing was over $32 with tax and it's going back as soon as I find a cheaper one...
Wonder if it's normal for the plug-in adapter to make a light hissing noise whenever I press the button though. Never seen that before...
