So, I have a car adapter that I use to charge my Iphone. It is essentially a car plug, with a USB plug on the other end.

I am already thinking about getting one that has two plugs, so I can charge a battery for my VK and for my 501 at the same time, or my phone and a battery.

But, I was thinking, to cut down on battery use with my VK, could I plug my non-battery powered USB PT into the car adapter and use the PT while driving? I don't want to blow up the PT, or my car, or my car adapter, but it would be sweet it if would work.

Janty includes a power port USB adapter with their Kissbox Extended kit. Checking their site just now, they no longer seem to offer the Extended kit. No matter, I only mentioned it to illustrate that it was offered to be used for the purpose of connecting a PT to the power port. I've used mine with no problems. No blown fuses or any other problems.

I did notice that, but I think my concern here is with the difference in current between a wall plug and a car adapter. But, my thought is that theoretically, the car adapter converts the car power current to be compatible with items that are usually plugged into the wall. But, usually wall plugs have ac adapters to lower the 12v dc current coming from the wall to something useable by the device.

So, I'm guessing that between the car adapter and the USB charger plug, the current should be regulated enough to charge a battery. If it wasn't, they wouldn't sell these USB adapter kits for car charging.

But, because the PT runs directly from the current provided by a USB port, the concern is that the car adapter might provide too much power and either burn out the PT or burn out my atty. (In this case a carto, so no biggie)

It's late, and I don't really know what I'm talking about, so I may be concerned about nothing, but I think I'm going to try it anyway. Maybe what I'll do, just to be sure is change out the fuse in the USB adapter from the 10v that is in it to a 5v fuse. Then if the adapter tries to push too much power, the fuse will pop. But if the PT only draws 5v, the fuse shouldn't pop and it would theoretically be getting the same amount of power through the adapter that it would through the USB plug on my computer.

(How is it that after six hours I'm already turning into an obsessed vaper?)

here & there!
I've been using a 12v car to USB adapter for some time now with great results!

Nothing special - cheap 12v plug with twin USB ports on the top. Picked it up in a discount store for $8. Use it daily when driving with my 901 passthru and recently with the "indulgence" passthru.

These all have a small regulator built in that only allows 5v to each port. Milliamp rating may be higher than 500 depending on manufacturer but the point is that it effectively emulates a PC or MAC USB port. Don't worry! Vape away!
