Hi and welcome. A Pico is a one-battery machine. I recommend not coiling below about .5Ω or getting the watts above 40ish as this will result in terrible battery life, even though it might be safe to do so. Yes, if your heat sink is tall enough to get above the top of the battery door, you can use a larger diameter topper.
Terrible battery life if he vapes like us. Said thats the range he vapes now, could get 2 days for all we know... 2 hrs for me lol.

I typically run my little gang of Picos between 35 and 45 Watts in temperature control, with a starting wattage of 42-45. The joyetech chip they run on is pretty efficient. With a fresh charge on a 2500mah cell, I would probably get a whole 8-hour day out of it. If I cut the temperature setting down 20 degrees or so, I'd do better.

If I were running any single cell device in VW only, battery life would suffer quite a bit. I used to run Baby Beasts on Picos pushing 50-ish Watts. I'd have to swap out well before that 8-hour day was done.
